• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Advise please, thinking of buying a 630

Buy it. I rode my beloved 02 KTM LC4 for an amazing 32k miles on the street and mostly dirt roads. it started to cost me too much so i got a KLR in '05. After 40k miles of the KLR i rode a TE 630 and sold the KLR in a week and bought one. i did look at the KTM 690, but i couldn't get on in CA at the time. the only issue i ever had was i took it to Moab to break it in and the clutch master cylinder started to leak. Once that was replaced (warranty), i moded it to act right(JD, PU, FM4, aibox, Kobul). the only thing i can complain about is the ridiculous 3 gal tank. i can go about 100 miles then the light comes on, lame. other than that..... conclusion.......Get it!

BUY IT! It is comfortable on road, the transmission is among the best shifting that I've ever owned, the suspension is great for trail and street. I could not be happier with mine, I've put almost 5,000 miles on it since July of this year. I've been on woods roads moderate single track and ATV trails. As previously mentioned, there are better machines for tight single track. I'm still amazed at how well the Husky carries it's weight. I owned a Yamaha WR450F and really disliked that bike. Too heavy for tight single track and it sucked on the road (it was plated, street legal)

I've replaced the tires and put on a new chain and sprockets. I have had no issues. It is one of the best bikes that I've owned!

I am in the midst of having a love hate relation ship with my TE.. Love,,, price, good looks ,transmision ratios, ergonomics. Hate.. countershaft seal leak, coolant leaks I keep finding at hose clamps . Things I need to learn to accept are the noisy top end, and finding neutral after you have come to a stop.
Everytime I get into some nast single track I think to my self I shoulda bought the 510.. Then I hit the highway or twisty's on the way home and all smiles..
I bought the bike after many hours lurking on this site.. Thanks to everyone that posts.

You say you have problems finding neutral? Their was an idle adjustment thread on here recently.... I bumped up the idle on my TE630 and it cured my stalling issues under hard braking but also found it helped in finding neutral a lot easier (I have only 300 miles on mine).

If you click into it while rolling with the clutch in, it's a lot easier than when you're stopped...
I always find it right as I'm rolling to a stop at lights.

Yes..All is good now witht the power up..1600rpm. It was too low as delivered in stock trim. I am aware of the neutral before coming to a stop just need to get in the habbit of doing it.
Turns out the waterpump housing was a little loose as well as another hose..Jeezz..
I am a Honda guy and not used to this working on your new bike stuff. But as everone knows Honda Has dropped the ball when it comes to the dual sport segment.
The TE630 is a very comfortable even after a 200km 10hr day of all types of terrain. Glad I bought it..
