True. But it's an aftermarket Heat Shield that fits out of the box. And I don't like the wrap.
As soon as I can find a better looking Heat Shield I will switch to that one.

And to be honest: the ugliest thing I've ever seen is the OEM Husky Heat Shield. Even the TT is better than OEM.

yeah they are in competition with one another - Surrealism vs Cubist approach :p

I think the Husky special parts catalogue has some carbon fibre ones ...

Bah! It is made of carbon fibre, but it is still ugly as hell. If they had routet the exhaust a little bit different, there wouldn't be the need of a Heat Shield. Here in Europe, the Quad D exhaust system is very popular on the 610. It looks good (oldschool) an it doesn't need a Heat Shield at all. But it's pretty expensive ~1000 €.

[IMG] took me a year and five months, but i finally got my leoV. took it for a short spin. deeper notes and quieter than stock, i'm guessing... don't know (?) also, i couldn't tell much difference performance-wise either. still i love it and i'm sold on it for it's looks alone :)

pretty crappy pic but i just put on a zeta universal guard on my 610. i tried heat wrap and it just didnt last when riding in the bush. i rubbed through after a couple of hard rides. the zeta looks pretty small but should save my leg. i might even buy another for the front section.

What did you use to cut the carbon fiber and how did you seal the edges?

Here is what I made a while back for my two 2009 610 TE hussies.

Made a few extra sets that I sold here in South Africa --The dollar is so strong against our rand --may be worth it for someone to let me make a few sets and he sells them there:D

I used a grinder with an inox cutting disc for cutting the CF. What do you mean sealing the edges check out the pics. Blazes amazing work that is exactly what I had in mind but I couldn't find the time to make something. So I took the old exhaust that was sitting for two years now and in less than two hours I had shield. It is a quick way and if you already have an old damaged exhaust you can use it to make a set of heat shields.again I like more yours and if in the future can find the time to make a mold an fabricate new ones I will post.
