I did get a quote on the AJP PR4 today at it was higher than I thought at $5,570.00 OTD. I also drove to a dealership today and was also quoted $8,599.00 OTD on a 2015 KTM XC350F and $7,650.00 OTD on a 2015 KTM 250 XC. Decisions decisions.........

All those decisions suck. FE350 or a TE250 should have been in the top three. Orange bikes suck! :). I actually really enjoy hating KTM but still rooting for the premium brand :). Welcome to Cafehusky John lol

HAHAHA The dealer only had one blue, white, and yellow KTM and it was the FC450 :D. He sold all the other 14's and is waiting on the 15's. I asked him how the new Huskys sold and he said the new KTMs sold very well but he misses the red Huskys.

John, I don't know about you but I personally like the KTM 500 better than the 350 for most everything. Every time I ride a 350 I feel like I have to strangle it to go. The 500's I rode felt exactly like the 350 but with a much more usable motor (for me). I hear the husky 501 is or can be a beast so maybe thats to much??? But a stock or semi stock KTM 500 is probably my favorite 4st KTM I have sampled. Tight woods to open stuff its a great bike.

I really want to see one in person just to get a feel for it. I dont think it is something I would like other than a play bike and maybe when i do super tight stuff but would be a great option for small. Young or female riders and anyone looking for a fun EZ trailbike. Now if all my friends had one I would ride it a lot as it is fun flogging small underpowered bikes in the right company.

PR4 retails for 4999, somebody has to pay shipping, either the dealer, or the customer, and I am assuming OTD includes sales tax? On the other hand, I don't see how they can sell 2015 KTM's that cheap if that price includes sales tax. That sounds like dealer cost plus sales tax. Maybe I am just use to Tennessee sales tax at 9.75%

It's an out of state dealer so I think I skip the tax thing with the KTM's. K I've had a 2009 Husky TXC510 and a GG 300 and I just don't like the chug chug of big CC engines. I don't think me and a 500 KTM would get along. Heck I'm not sure me and any KYM would get along . I'm way past getting itchy to pull the trigger on a new bike but I don't want to jump on one that doesn't work for me. BTW I haven't been on a KTM newer than the two 08's my son had(SX450 and SX505). I didn't care for either other than they were fast.

You could always buy a Beta from Water Racer at www.knoxenduro.com and skip his sales tax :). So what happened to the Sherco plan? I'm sure there's still dealers around with the on the floor. I really don't think you'll go wrong with any bike. I know my local dealer still has a ton of red bikes too if you went that route. Just make up your mind already lol (I do the same thing)

Thought about the Beta 350 too :D. On the Sherco, it's the bike I "think" would fit me the best but with no plans at this time for 15's in the USA I'm to chicken to pick up a 14.

Parts could just be ordered through the Canadian importer. Other big news, TM is introducing completely new 2 stroke motors for 2015!

Yeah I bought me one of those TM things in 2011, a shiny new 250 MX. Way to much bike for me ! Gave it to my son. Fun a hell in my back field but tried to kill me on our MX track!

Understood. That said the KTM 500 is much more smooth and refined feeling than the TXC510 which was a rocket but also a hammer. The KTM feels like a 350 with a better motor to me and not like a big unruly 4 stroke. Toss a leg over one for a ride if you ever get a chance. Might be surprised. As you know KTMs don't really fit me either but that one I like. I like the FE350 as well but for me you give almost nothing up getting the 500 and gain some nice lugging power the 350 can only dream of.

Thanks for your input K and if I get a chance I will do so. I just read some post over on the KTM site and it seams quite a few think you have to really wring the 350 out to get at the power. I shouldn't be hjing this thread but how's the power on the 250XC 2-strokes ?

Thanks for the plug Mr Motard!
John, you will find that Betas are easier to ride than KTM's, and I believe the AJP will be easier yet. I am leaning towards taking on AJP not only because of lower price, but I think they fill a void that is not being filled in the market.
By the way, we have high sales tax, but no state income tax.

Waterracer, I must say that Kelly may have brought this to our attention, but you've also been instrumental in creating some serious interest. Too bad you don't have the AJP in your lineup yet, because my honey is in Tennessee right now and I'd send her to you to throw a leg over the 4 &5 to see what she thinks.

If only the OEM Red Husky team had kept/installed the 450/510 counter balancer shafts into the TC/TXC ..... those 08-10 TC/TXC450/510s would still be raising eyebrows. Those things are some sturdy red huskys.

Here is another article ... Might be some bleed over from previous articles but not sure ..

    http://dirtbikemagazine.com/industry-news/ajp-motorcycle-from-portugal

If you notice, the guys who made these bikes and are trying to sell them, keep using the words "enduro" and "trail bike" ... That's their target audience, their business model ...

For you young guys, before the term 'Dual Sport' became important, 'Enduro' bikes are what we all rode on streets and trails ... I still like that term for my small riding ... Dual Sport generates the idea of more street oriented riding to me ... Enduro means more dirt-oriented riding... Not true racing but off just plain motorcycle riding anywhere off a paved road.
