Thank you guys for all your efforts. Im looking forward to my return to the Dez (Nat H&H after a 2 year hiatus)
No it dried up for the most part. Yesterday there was still shallow puddles and some mud left in low spots between whoops.
Thank John for our loop. He's really been working hard to get it just right. The last rains wrecked some of the course and made it all but impossible to get through unless you're A or better. I just try and make sure he doesn't run out of ribbon and make myself a good guinea pig here and there.
That's right Huskynoobee Was my guinea pig for 3 weekends. It is funny how I have taken advandage of him the poor guy. When we are out marking I say, hey see if you can make that hill. If he does we use it. Then some times I send him down canyons and if he can get thru we use that. All the while I sit there and watch. Would make a good you tube video. He is getting better he now is a super sand bagger and time to move up in class Any one who was thinking they might want to try this race need to get off the fence and come try it
The weather forecast is holding. The largest boom town in Johnson Valley is being assembled and the last bits of ribbon, arrows etc are being added. If you haven't signed up there will be folks to help you Sat. afternoon starting at~3:00 pm when the Hare Scramble is wrapped up and dark and early Sunday morning for you guys who like to do the one day trip. Wossner pistons is giving away holeshot awards for Expert, Int, Nov, Beg, and Quad, and Amsoil is giving certs worth 2 oil changes for overall class winners.
all prepped I even washed my gear with extra soap so I look good for cameras....see y'all there. (just got a new jersey and new gloves....but I'm saving them for the Tecate enduro cameras, my sponsors always want me to look sharp when I hit fence posts while riding out of control wheelies-see avatar)
tough one P2 50A very happy, but i did get a break the #1 and 2 were already done at the last round, one is Utah based and I believe other is Nev based so they were no shows along with mr loop 2 Ajax. incidentally L2 was the best marked loop . tech level not as high as L3 but L2 was nonstop stuff L3 gave break sections going into the near the end in the high 90s for mileage a ride up a canyon and then down an ugly chute downhill near to the finish
I agree with Robert the second loop was marked better then the first. I only had to do two loops I found both loops fun with a good mix of "stuff" very tired today but the good kind of tired. Question for the guys from 100MC. Will trophy's be given out to the D37 classes or only to the National classes. some the age classes in D37 are split based on engine size.
Not sure, I'll check and get back. It varies by club how trophies are awarded. I just picked up a trophy from the Checkers race this weekend for a class I thought didn't ever get them.
Glad you guys had a good time and didn't get lost on our loop. We ribboned and arrowed the heck outta that thing. We were pulling ribbon till almost dark last night. Luckily some of the club members stayed out to finish it up today.
PS Ugly=Challenging, sporting, tough, muscle burning but when it comes down to it, fun, especially when you get done with it!!!
Ajax and Huskynoobee had the best well marked loop with their L2!! also note that silly rekluse--- im really getting the hang of that thing now, its a real value added mod.
I tried to look for you on the start line Robert, but there were a lot of riders on that first line. It took about 2 minutes for the dust to clear before we could sweep the bomb. It was surreal being on the other side as it were. I didn't expect the nervous energy I felt as the banner went up and the engines went silent. I picked the right side edge to sweep and got to see all the pros lined up and take off. I kept having to remind myself that I was supposed to go slow and look for downed riders. The best news is we only had two reported injuries. A possible ankle fracture and a rider who rung their bell pretty good early on loop 2. We had to start thinking we had a lost guy meandering around until he finally checked in.

I'll take riding even the worse D37 course (invaders during the 80s) over not riding.... I use to love when you could tell a club put in the effort.... I'm using Ajax tip of ribbon on close pins.... out east these guys dont use ribbon but I do I cant stand looking at 6000 arrows.... lol
