Interesting...the front pads for our bikes are the same as the HP2. I wonder if the calipers are the exact same? I ask because RoadLok has a system for the HP2.

That's neat, but for $300 I'd rather keep full coverage/theft insurance on my bike.

I used to use disc locks.....about 20 yrs ago.
I don't use anything now, haven't for the last 20 years. If they want it, they'll get it - and I'm insured.

In 45 yrs and 60 bikes - I've had one stolen. My '77 Yamaha XS650 from my g/f apartment when I was 22.
I used to use a ratty bike cover to put over a nice rig... out of sight, out of mind.

When I'm on the road I pick motels where I can get a ground floor room so I can see the bike.

I am pretty much of the same opinion. I choose a motel or campsite which has parking out of sight of the street where possible. I have a dirty old blue 3'x3' tarp which i throw over the bike and cabletie the corners through the wheels when it's parked for the night. What people don't see won't interest them, as they say.

I also have placed a huge block of concrete with a really big chain in it, through the frame, and ground anchor for the front, I agree if they want it that bad, but your chances with something that has to be cut with an angle grinder are much higher they will leave it. It does not cost a lot, but if it is stolen, sure you get it backbut you will always be far out of pocket for a long time and now days with anything insured, house and all.

zena disc lock arlarm is a good one but a big chain an tree or lamp post tends to sort the men from the boys...
$300 on a lock it would take 2 strong boys to lift the rig into a pick up an drive away... lojack if your bike has a battery or block it in a corner with your car van or house...

Looks cool, but I pay $300 a year to insure six bikes, four of which have full coverage. At $300 for a Roaklok, they better be discounting my policy to damn near free.

They say there is a discount with most insurances...but I bet it is only something like 5% if even that much.

Like you said, looks cool but very $$$$$

The bloke at my local bike dismantler/wrecker shop says he can't sell enough disc locks.. because for every disc lock he sells, sooner or later he sells a brake calliper :)

He's talking about goobers that forget to take it off the disc and ride off. It will slam into the caliper.
