FE/FC Any good reason to skip the 13 TE511 and get a 14?

    Just to reiterate here quickly...

    You can buy this;

    Or for 500$ more you can get this;

    500$ more will get you a street legal dual sport with a 470ish cc engine and all kinds of awesome technology....Or you can buy a 85cc pit bike from ktm.

    I cant believe the price on the new ktmahuskabergs. It literally brings tears to my eyes.

    You can't go wrong if it makes you excited. :banana:
    My Dad just rode his Strada home last Saturday. He seems to be loving it so far. Seems like a great way to get back into riding too.

    Congrats!

    Actually, 2014 TE511 is red/white. I just got one from Bert's in Covina. It's street legal, got my plate Friday. Lots to do with this. Would never get a Suzuki. The Japanese machinery is very different, but to each his own.

    Man, saying "Suzuki" here is like cursing in church! hahaha....

    For the record, I have a TR650 Terra now... so don't ban me! haha.

    Love the bike, hate the weight, but overall super happy.

    Good to hear. I don't mean to bash any of the new ktm bikes. They are awesome bikes. But I cannot for the life of me understand the pricing. I just do not see how they sell them and more so, how they can charge such outrageous amounts of money.

    I truly truly wanted a ktm 690enduro R. Why? seemed like the perfect bike to me!

    I spent 3 months looking for a brand new or used one. All the dealers basically said "pay for it and we will call you when it gets here" no demo days, none in stock anywhere, no possibility to test ride or sit on one! No dealing with the customer, just a simple "oh you want one? well when they arrive they sell instantly and there is a list 10 long so just pay for it now and we will call you when it comes in" "oh yea its msrp+ fees so probably 12,500$ + setup and delivery"....

    Yes....nearly 13,000$ for a single cylinder dirt bike that is plated. But you can get a DUKE 690 for under 8k. I just do not get it. There is not that much more to a 690 enduro, in fact a lot less parts than the 690 duke. You get better forks and shock with the enduro, but that's it.

    You can buy a damn 4 cylinder 180hp sport bike for that...is ktm for the rich and elite only?

    They are taking husky which builds tons of street legal supermoto and enduro/trail bikes and turning them into a company that sells mx bikes?

    RacerAV, hope you love the tr650. They look like a great commuter, adv bike. Seem to be very reliable if you float around in that section :)

    Dude you are sooooo right.
    I wouldn't pay that much for those bikes. They're nice, but eh...
    The TR650 is great so far! A bit heavy, wish it was all aluminum at least, but maybe in the future I'll swap the swing arm, gotta be a perfect match somewhere out there... If not, whatever, love it. Plenty of power stock, enough aftermarket support, and I got it for $6000 plus tax/fees. Couldn't be happier!

    its old and useless now, but it was meant to ask the NEW bike owners/lovers what THEY though, hence the placement

    The new FE501 is insanely good. Much better bike than the 500exc, 10hp more as well. A great dual sport machine.
