Sorry. I didn't explain myself to well.
Untwist the spring, and re twist back together. Take all of 10 secs and works a treat

2010 TE 310 - Had them installed on my problematic 50mm Zokes, they lasted as long as the Genuine Husky ones... <200km!

Sounds like seals may not be your issue if you're constantly loosing the seal.. Inspect the stanchion for dings, or bugs stuck on, scratches, anything of that nature. And if you take them apart again, have a machine shop check the stanchions for straightness.

Also, try periodically cleaning out the cavity between dust seal and oil seal..

Thanks for the tips but its kind of been an ongoing issue for me. The bike is still under warranty and the forks are on their 3rd set of seals and failed again (now the whole forks are being replaced by the dealer). No scratches in the stanchions and they seem to be mounted correctly and not off centre . They have usually failed within a few 100kms. Also bike is always clean/serviced, neevr raced, avoid mud etc.

That's wierd. Glad you're getting it taken care of! It coulda been a random set of bad ones, but even that sounds unlikely..

Well, I used today to replace fork seals. I ended up getting the All Balls seals and dust seals package. I used the split PVC pipe to shove the lower bushing and seal in - that worked great. Hopefully it will at least stay sealed up while sitting in the garage now.... [IMG]

08 te250 w/310 kit here. had reputable husky builder do my complete suspension for $700 an i got all ballz seals that leaked after 50 miles. had them redone again by different rebuilder with good seals i now have over 1k miles on them with no problems. he said it was the garbage seals. maybe just my luck though . i also have used all ballz bearing an seal kits on my 4x4 quads but the chinese bearings dont last 1/3 as long as oe but they are cheap .

thenash79, I didn't want to hear that.... The first few posts back on this sounded like good results so I got them coming. I guess I will find out. So far after three days of sitting in the garage not moving, they are BONE DRY [IMG] At least if they leak soon, I now know the replacement process, so it won't take me long the next time.

sorry to stir the pot but mine were great for the first week sitting there but after one good ride they were toast, builder quit entire buisness by that monday so i was beat and had to pay someone else to go through them again. some say it also depends on how the forks and axle are installed /aligned on bike. i did same procedure both times ,one set of seals lasted 3 hours(all ballz) an the other two seasons(oem).do a search on this there is a couple threads about it,everything from leaving one fork loose and pushing on frontend ,to ramming walls to seat forks. Hopefully someone can lead u to the right procedure as i am a husky rookie[IMG]

Thanks, I read somewhere to leave the axle screws a little loose and mash up and down on the forks a few times before tightening - so that's what I did. Hopefully mine last a little more like some of the other guys that have had good luck with them..... I'm keeping my fingers crossed !! [IMG]

So far so good on the seals. Not a lot of miles this summer but no leaks at all yet, so I am happy with the seals so far.

FWIW, we do a ton of suspension work at my shop and we do not warranty jobs when AB seals are used.

We use SKF seals. They are twice the price but last way longer and have way less stiction.

Thanks ScottyR, I've heard a lot of good things about the SKF seals here. That will be the choice when these wear out next time.

Are all-balls Chinese ? , if they are i will not use them again. I would rather pay twice the money to get a Euro made brand, i don't trust the Chinese manufacturers at all. They are famous for making crap.

Id stay away from them if your a serious off-road'r-
I put SKF in my personal 50mm Zok's and they made a huge difference in action.
Ran them all summer with no issue's
