I could be wrong, but I think the only difference from the Q4 and the Powercore 4 is the quiet insert. That is why the Q4 costs, and weighs, a little more. The 4.1 is the same as the Powercore, but with Ti instead of aluminium. I have had the Q4 on my 630 for the past six months, managed to get a deal right here on CH from a fellow who bought it but never installed it. I can only compare it the stock exhaust, that being said I am real happy with the upgrade. There is definitely more power, and with the quiet insert it doesn't seem that much louder than stock. Probably the best upgrade I have done so far.
The Q4 on my WR250R was longer than the Powercore, that is where it got its extra sound damping from. There is no insert in a Q4 other than a spark arrestor screen.
It definitely honks a lot more when the maze is removed. I did a bunch of stuff at once so I can't say, but it I can't see how it can be anything other than a restriction.
Decided to part with the Arrows. I have been running with the FMF for a long time now and prefer the look and weight savings as I am mainly riding off road. See ad in classified section. Link below. http://www.cafehusky.com/threads/630-arrow-exhaust-with-ecu-plus-pu-kit-950-shipping.27197/
Interesting. So does the FMF etc setup that you have now, have the same level of performance as the Arrows kit ?
The European model 630s have purcupine spikes insted of the maze in the airbox lid. Had to remove most of them to instal the EHS intake membrane. But I don´t think that the maze or the spikes have much to do with impeding the air intake from the snorkel. It seems their main function is to create space between the filter foam and the airbox cover in order to let more air in over the surface of the foam filter.
I'll probably remove some of those spikes too. They don't work (my filter is black only in one spot where the snorkel goes) and last time I took the filter out there were pretty deep holes in the upper side of the filter.
No way. The Arrows are stronger. See my earlier post in this thread for comparison (subjective). http://www.cafehusky.com/threads/best-pipe-for-the-630.15644/page-9#post-226529
but how much of that can be contributed to by the Arrows ECU ? Have you run the FMF with the Arrow ECU ?

The non USA version, and as it is said, the pegs are to keep the foam away from the inside of the cover to allow for a larger field of foam to filter air. I have removed the snorkel, but kept the rest as is...
That is exactly like the US version... There are rubber "feet" that go on those three bosses to keep the filter away from the cover. I removed all of the fins and left the feet and added several holes to the lid in non-obvious places, then covered them with screen.
