Like I said, other than the wheels, brakes, computer and a few other things the PR4 is its own bike. Different frame, seat, suspension, swingarm, linkage, engine, etc. The PR4 is noticeably smaller sitting on it. I really like that they took the time to build to completely different bikes so they get it right. They don't just share frames across the board and you have to adapt like many manufacturers. Quality is amazing for a 5k bike. If you just get on the PR5 and ride it feels pretty much full sized, like a 125. But if you hop on it after riding a regular bike like a KTM 350, WR250 husky or Wr125 husky it feels noticeably smaller and lower. Almost looks bigger than this YZF450 but feels much slimmer and smaller / lower when riding it.
very minimalistic trailer mate but hey if it gets the job done. get some unhookable tie downs please like the protapers or such-not a pretty site when ya bike launches off ya ute or trailer whilst driving along-trust me!
I noticed that too. They made it look easy. There were also a couple of KTMs earlier in the video that just sailed up it. Aside from that everyone pretty much ended up getting towed.
Scott has pulled bikes all over the western US. He seems to have it sorted. He does put two inside straps per bike.
That's the way to do it, plus he has room to sleep in the van i just spoon the bike in the bed of my truck lol
ah yes on closer inspection I see. duly noted. it was a sad sad day after the first ride on my brand new wr300 to see her drag along the road next to my door(kinda reminds me of one of them lazy people that 'walk' their dog with their arm out the car window holding leash-personally I just tie him to the towball & keep it under 40!-funny now, wasn't on the day though I can assure you) after ejecting from the back of my ute
I just saw, for the first time, a good piece of insurance for use on exposed trailers like that. Apparently you can get a spacer that fits between the top of the tire and the bottom of the front fender. You pull the straps tight enough to compress the forks so that that spacer is jammed in between there. It keeps the forks from compressing due to bumps in the road and thus prevents the straps from popping loose. I'd never seen this before, but I'm getting one for sure since I often use a hitch rack to transport my bike. http://www.cyclegear.com/TRACKSIDE-Fork-Brace http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/TIE-DOWN...-BIKE-BLUE-MOTOCROSS-MOTORCYCLE-/271653936631
Power tie or pit posse tiedowns have spring loaded safety clips. They won't come undone with fork compression while being trailered or otherwise. Looks like Motosportz has safety clip tiedowns in his trailer photo tho kind of fuzzy when zooming in on picture
Guess we know what YOU did today . Do you ever notice that big hole in the back of the seat where the gas cap goes when you're riding? (I ask because my buddy has the BMW 450 x and that seat/cap set-up definetely bothered me)
I know saying "mountainbike with a motor" is way over used but describes this bike well. So freaking light and small felling. So fun. Had a great time on the little PR4 today. It surpassed my expectations just like the PR5 did. Its such a blast to toss around and works very well. Will upload better vids later but...
