I see that its the same pack as an older OGIO 1950. My experience with the pack is that its NOT waterproof. Still, I love this pack.
I have one of these, long(ish) 70 oz, any chance it would fit kinda sorta ok? Does not need to fit perfect..
Would work great. Pretty much any bladder will work. there is a huge pocket for it, a hanging hook, a house port and hose sleeve, it's all ready to drop your bladder in.
I'm using that same bladder in my Husky pack. No problemo! The waist belt helps keep the pack from flopping around too much in whoops. Way more secure than my old "Target" special.
rats, wish I had seen this sooner. has my dampner shipped yet I wonder? could I add the pack to that order?
I got one of these last week did a 100+ mile ride with it had it loaded with tools, tubes, repair kits with co2,camelback bladder, some trail food ,and plenty of room for extra gear or other light items and it does come with a rain fly.I did have to use the rain fly and I can say that it rides really well even over top of a chest protector. Now I just have to get a smaller set of tire irons to carry.
I really like the aluminum Motionpro one with the axle wrench built into the end. I would not use it for servicing as the aluminum will only hold up so long but it is short enough for the Husky pack tool compartment and is very light weight. there is also an insert for the axle end that makes it a 1/4 socket driver.
I have about 800 miles on my pack now. LOve it: I pack it with tools, water, and what not- to get through the day- riding in groups I always have the trail solution for the guy that breaks his bike- someones gotta carry iit. This is the most comfortable pack I have had- it carry's the weight well and doesn't bounce around. It feels like about 30lbs in your hands and about 10lbs on your back. I was leading a crew a few weeks ago on some USFS "road" I was pushing my rear tire a bit on some 1.5 track (really really old grown in 2 track) (new trail to us so I was chasing a GPS arrow). Well it had just rained- the ground was slimy black dirt over clay- the trail was concaved from 2 track old rut- cam around a corner and my rear dropped off the edge and swoopped out putting me into a low side- tried to recover- but the rear was just gone- Low Siding off trail into bush- my front and rear tires aligned with a downed log- switched from a low side to a dramatic high side. bike flipped sideways- and I was flung like a terd on a stick. Rolled a few times and came to a stop getting to my feet with some momentum still pulling me in the direction of travel- put my hands to the air "Jazz Hands" letting the guys know I was alright and its OK to laugh. Bike was fine I was fine- moving on- had a great day. Later on- saw there was a tear in my back pack near the lower straps- figures with the torque and speed and trail garbage it saw... surprised I didn't have any tears in me- probably have the local seamstress see if they can stitch it up. Love the pack, love the bike- what a sport!!!
Yep, really nice, can't believe i paid 70 for a Fly one that the zipper broke 3rd use for travel only isn't even close to the quality of the Husky one
My pack only made about 6 day trips & it's toast. It's self destructing along a couple seams. Oddly, these are not load bearing seams, either. Never over-loaded, just a 2-liter water bladder, no tools. No big crashes. May have snagged a branch or two. Oh well.
