We use to sell them but after a crooked rep and no support from KTM we dropped them. Great bikes though. I still have a new 2006 FE 450 and FE 550 and an 05 FS 450. CHEAP. I also need to sell the black beast. It is a FE 650, with a clark 5 gallon tank, a husaberg underseat tank, all black plastic, and an 8" Baja Designs light. also CHEAP. Oh yeah, I can sell it as a 650 or 450 (long story) and have a street legal FS450E cheap too. The black beast is also street legal. Sorry, didn't mean to hijack the thread with that. I will have Rusty put those in my Bend Euro Moto forum.
I know this is a Husky site, but you dealt with the old BMG guys, not KTM/Husaberg NA. I must admit, the guys (Robbie Jenks and Clay Stuckey) from Husaberg NA are a complete JOY to deal with. But then again, the only people I have to compare them with is Husqvarna NA.
That was my next question, as they had a 380 kit in '07 I think. I remember guys saying how much better it was in tight stuff. I'm a 2 stroke guy, but would love to ride the 390 version of this bike. The frame and split tank is pure '02 VOR. My buddy's '02 450ENE had more front traction than any bike I've ever ridden, almost too much!
I love the sound of the air sucking through the frame at 70 MPH down some of our long desert straights. My WP forks actually work with a full 6 gallons on the bike.
Something makes me think that they are going to reconfigure the KTM 400XCW top end into a Berg for the FE390. That will be a good thing IMO as the 400 is a pretty sweet motor. The FE450 uses the same top end as the 450XCR-W already.
The whole motor is KTM, have you seen the castings on the inside is KTM embossed on it everywhere. it is the same company after all.
I am quite aware of that. What I meant was that it really isnt a big deal to make the 390 as the 400 XCW top end should just bolt on to the existing Berg motor.
