No matter where im working in the world ill always try to get myself logged on to this great site. And has a plus side im only ten days away from seeing my new to me 07 wr 250.
I used to pop in there every once in a while, but have grown weary of that huskyrips clown flapping his jaws. Their classifieds suck now and their "Where to Ride" is offline. Not much going for it and certainly not as cool of a crowd as here.
I'll kick in my kudo's. The guys on this forum have been a "community" for me since I joined 6 months ago. I truly appreciate the genuine expertise to be found here ... along with the sense of community. The YZ250 forum on TT was/and still is a similar community of "riders". As much as I appreciate this forum ... it's really the members who've made a nice place to be. Thanks.
This place has been a life changer for me, met a Mr Bean here who has been my 2 stroke 125 life coach
This forum and it's great members were the deciding factor in my purchase of my wr144. A lot of good people here to help out and I am glad to do the same for them. Keep up the great work every-body!!
I appreciate it. But If you fine people want to thank someone, walk over to a mirror I am an extremely small part of what makes this a nice place... though I do try to be courteous and polite.
I can't believe it ,10K members thats fantastic. Just goes to show, folks like to hang with nice people. Thanks for the vision Coffee and to all you members, love your work.
Not true. You are the reason this site is great. TT was very good until you moved here and then it became CRAP as a few people were allowed to take over and spout crap all day unchecked. That site gets almost no traffic now as everyone got turned off to the hate and crap. The proof is in the pudding. Level headed honest moderation is the key. Keeping political talk off here helps too. Your vision, the software and implementation and your firm but honest moderation criteria are what make this site great. You have everything to do with it.
No thank you. Happy as a clam right where I am at. I would not be a level headed moderator. My way or the highway... ask my kids (this is NOT a democracy)
I appreciate the compliment, I really do. Yes I do try hard to treat people as I would want them to treat me - as nice as possible... and I do have a vision which is taking *way* too long to implement... One thing though, there is almost no moderation being done, at least compare to other places like TT (for those who don't know, I was a moderator on TT for a year). Approving posts, deleting ads because things have been sold, and the rare closing of threads - with an explanation as to why it is being closed... that the vast majority of what is happening at the moderating level. Husqvarna riders are good people
I love this site ! Dean, you are the Man !! You did a great job establishing the Husky forum on TT. Your "Stickies" are still the most usefull info available on that site. Your vision, though, to create a better place for Husky enthusiasts to share info and stories without all the drama has definitely become a reality. I'm pretty passionate about the Husky brand and I still frequent that "other site" (love calling it that) and ya can't help but get a little worked up when you read some of the stuff spewed out by ol' Mr. Bitterass from Joisey....errrr Jersey. Anyway, no matter, this is where I come for real info or questions. You've done a great job with CH and your hard work is greatly appreciated.
I try to read most of the posts and it seems pretty clear to me that moderation isn't needed here. Kinda cool having a sheriff and deputies (WC) nobody wants to mess with. It may seem to you it is "taking #way# too long", but good things take time. This is a very good thing you have done here.
Thanks to some Husky riders I met at a GNCC for telling me about this great site. Husky riders ARE different...we look out for each other and offer help/advice without being condescending (usually! ). Love the site and learn something new everytime I visit.
When I was looking for a newer entry level bike for my 10 year old, I came across a nice '82 XC 250. Decided to go take a look, afterall always wanted a new one back in the day, and just loved my test ride of the old smoker, but wasn't sure about buying such an old bike. So went home and started researching vintage Husky parts sources etc to assist in deciding whether to buy the old bike. After stubling across Cafe Husky, it was a done deal, all of the tech resources, info on parts supplliers, the clearly friendly and enthusiastic Vintage group here made it a no-brainer. Love this place!!!
Great site Coffee and second what has been said!! Member of a few dirtbike forums and it's pretty useless these sites starting a husky forum as this site IS the only place where you can talk about your husky without some idiot having a go at ya etc etc. The only thing that l wish Coffee could have brought over were the great threads that were lost on TT.
