Thanks for posting it up. I am not liking the new KTM plastics but the bike may be a good one time will tell.
Some good and not so good news. I like the swing arm pivot and sprocket being on the same axis (although changing out a front sprocket could be time consuming). Not too wrapped in the 5 speed box although I understand the ratios are wider than the current Husky box so it may be ok. I understand the crank shaft mounted clutch is small and spins incredibly fast with makes it prone to faster than normal wear. The clutch is also cable operated which is a huge retrograde step. Upon reflection I feel the opportunity to utilise the best of both manufacturers product and produce a stella product is precariously poised to become a camel designed by committees and the spare parts bin. I know I should reserve judgement but it seems the square heads have inflicted their inferior product into dominance. Why the heck did those people buy Husky any way. I will certainly not be buying one first cab off the rank and will watch to see if it is a great bike worthy of replacing the current line up of great bikes. If this heinz 57 variety is not a cracker out of the box then it will be a very sad outcome for those who bought husky in part for their original approach to the sport. Enough rant but a bloody Kymco motor for petes sake.
Man You got to be kidding me! How do you say huge mistake in German? I mean japanese! Every time bmw butts in it seems they ruin a good thing. I guess i bought my last husky. I hate to be that way but that is not a husqvarna. That is a japanese bmw. I like japanese bikes and all but the mix in my opinion is like a 1985 civic and amc hornet mixed together! Good luck with that. I guess Ktm Gets another customer.
I like the idea of the linkage on top of the swing arm Not sure about that front sprocket location ... As long as it can be changed easily and works as expected, it should be Ok also... It has the bmw baggage from the last couple of years to over-come 4 sure ... Surely they will not bet the entire bike lines off this one model ... When the plastics arrive with some color... the bike should get a little more appealing :0 )
Ok now I would buy that! Funny how much the red color can change the looks of a bike I take back my KTM looking comment. Good call ray ray and very good color adding K.
Excuse me, i mean taiwan. To those who do not know the motor is built in Taiwan! That may not be a bad thing but it is far from a husqvarna. Bmw motorcross bikes will be like there supersport effort, big in the news but just not very impressive for the cost and maintenance! Time will tell!
I'm glad I just bought a new TE, I'm not liking the direction BMW is going with this. Oh well, time will tell. It may turn out to be a great bike but it feels less and less Euro to me, specially with that Chinese motor, I know, I know, everything is made in China.
Before you trash Kymco- you may not be aware of the fact that the factories in Taiwan and China that produce these engines and bikes are actually at the leading edge of production technology. I saw a video of the largest volume motorcycle factory in the world, located in China. It was easily comparable to the Toyota plant built a couple years ago not far from my house. Don't be surprised if they do a better job of building engines than the folks in Varese do........
It is just my opinion it really means nothing. I really like my 2010 supermoto and i have had a few huskies. I had a fugi motor in my polaris. I just hate to see what is happening to the brand and i like hand built italian moto cycles. I think cagiva is a very small company like ducati that took pride in what they did! Bmw is doing the same in the super bike series, building a bike from alot of outside sources and is really trying hard but it is a souless motor cycle with 3 years of developement and can hardly finish a race! Toyota really is not a good example to use. They have killed how many people from there mass producing? Again just my opionion, means nothing!

First of all I am very sorry if I offended anyone. That is not what I intended to do! I thought we were disscussing the pros and cons of the new BMW/Husqvarna.I am a huge motorcycle fan and I have loved and owned motor bikes my whole life. All makes and models. I even have a Harley for crimany sakes! Let's not get into that one. I guess it shook me up a little when I see a radical take over and huge changes to a beautiful bike like the Husqvarna. The cagiva factory is tiny compared to the giants in Taiwan and Germany. The Italians are very passionate about there bikes. Again sorry if I offended anyone.
Well all I can say is I am not impressed if they change the factory. I love the older Husky's. Guess I will stick to riding the older ones but only time will tell. This could be a fantastic bike! Or it could end up to be a fantastic pile of garbage. I will keep my mind open and we will see what happens.
Other than the motor the bike is 100% Italian design as per Scot. Obviously everyone liked the motor enough to use it. I'm really starting to warm up to it and even think it might just be a large step forward. I rode the FE450 Berg a while back and was very impressed. Most who rode it were. I think this bike is going to be like that with the mass centralization, super smooth motor, perfect EFI, amazing hookup and line holding. Personally I can hardly wait to ride it. BTW here is my review of the FE390 if you care. http://www.thumpertalk.com/forum/thread/818185/2010-fe390-husaberg-full-ride-review
I'm trying to do some housekeeping... 4st -> Newsroom... This is just for Husqvarna bikes, and things that bolt onto Husqvarna Bikes: Husqvarna Bikes (Bikes & Accessories) This is where the bike related news & rumors go: General -> Newsroom (Bike Industry: press releases, magazine articles, rumors)
