I just got mine Friday. Bought the bike in May and it didn't come with one. My dealer took one out of one of his 2014's and didn't seem to think it would be too hard for him to get a replacement. The kit is kind of laughable, but I did want the spanner for the shock.
I received my bike in the crate. I opened it and put the front wheel on, checked the oil, adjusted the chain, installed the mirrors, etc. The little red lego looking thingy fits over the positive battery terminal. You remove it when you install the battery. My memory stick didn't work but I found the service manual through a link here. My toolkit was in the parts box inside the crate. Is there somewhere on the bike to store it?
Mine was missing the kit so I just emailed my dealer and included a copy of that memo. Will see what happens....
GOT MINE TODAY!! You have to push the correct buttons.. The price tag on mine was less than $8 It's the point of the matter.
