Does my TE 250 have to stear like this?

You'll need to use a dremel or similar tool to "carve" out a notch. It's not much, is quick and easy and she'll work just fine. Here's what mine looks like.....






I just took these pics and now that I've looked at them apparently I'm still hitting. You can see the dark areas at the bottom where I need to use the dremel a little more. Sorry for the upsidedownness of the pics, she's been on her side like a puppy wanting it's belly scratched ever since I got another bike. Of course, I could put the linkage and swingarm back together and she'd stand up ready for action like a good dog should!

BTW, this wasn't caused because you lowered the bike. It's just a mod you have to do to some Huskies.

After all that carving, I'd suggest you check and reset the sag on both ends, again and again if necessary ... ( ESP the front sag ... ) Nothing is gonna work right with the sag out ... Not sure what year bike that is but it should not be banging hard just because you pick up a little speed and sag is the place to start ... Then just soften up those clickers!

And yep, that momentum thing is critical in the woods ... 98% of my get-0ffs (& my buddies)were lack of speed, resulting in not enough momentum to carry me across a section I have bailed too many times to count ...

Yep, carving the seat out about 2" is a good idea maybe ... It looks really good when finished and should not be too hard to modify in such a way ... Ur rubber looks OK ... I have a Kenda S270 on the back of mine now ... It has ~1300 miles on it and still has a few miles left n it ... Hiway miles and some very rocky track racing ... It s DOT approved and works well in the single tracks roots and rocks stuff and only costs about $50.00 .. I have a 5.10 but it hinders turning some so I'd go with a 4.10 or 4.60 ...

PS -- It also looks like your bars are pushed way forward (pic #2)... do they feel ok? Are you trying to get some extra height out of them set this way?

I had a Scott's on my 07 TE250 and you will need to Clarence the material on the back side of the top triple clamp with a belt sander or grinder, test the installation several times to only take off the amount of material you need ;leaving as much as you can (per the instructions). This should give you all your steering back like it was. You can set up the Scott's to very lite or turn it up to the point it will almost feel stiff. IMO once you have it right you will really like it.

BTW Nice bike, The only reason i sold mine was to get a 610 for more long distance road/trail riding.

Thanks everyone! He did take a grinder, with a wierd looking wheel, and shaved some of the triple clamp away. Problem solved! It really wasnt all that much.

I dont think my bars are forward? I sat on the bike and he set them to where I felt comfortable.

Yes, I am only a novice trail rider. So I dont "push" the bike. I feel more comfortable when I can touch.

looks like a trials rear tire and depending on riding style these tires can be the cats a$$...

lots of guys run them for enduro racing, including #1 finisher at Erzberg.
