WOW, hot topic, so here I go. Chilly is right, but I still love and respect Ryno. Ryno and I got to know each other when we were both involved in the WORCS series. We talked a lot and even got into a couple of heated "one on one" discussions. Ryno is a different person when he puts his helmet on. It doesn't matter if he is racing, teaching or practicing he gives it 100%, the Ryno Way. Helmet off, family man, fun and always speaks the truth, as he see's it. Now for the 449 and Motocross. At the Pala WORCS race Cory Graffunder's bike was "slower" than the competitions Honda, KTM and Kawasaki on the moto track. Sarge built a great "stock" motor and Charles had the forks and shock dialed, but Cory brought a knife to a gun fight. Last year Ty Davis was able to build horse power into the 449, but the engines were not dependable. Cory is easy on bikes, but he needs a better motorcycle to beat the other bikes in a moto type race, aka WORCS. All Husky's are great Off-Road bikes for the average rider, which 99% of us are at that level, but at a Pro MX or WORCS level BMW/Husky can and will do better. Husky and all of their fans need to support the efforts of Graffunder in the AMA West Hare Scrambles series, Delong at the GNCC events and Cory and Kyle in EnduroCross. 2012 will be the year that Husqavarna proves that they build great off-road motorcycles and a Championship, this year, is just around the corner. DB in AZ, see ya at the races!
I was at Southwick yesterday and Dowdy rode his heart out and Mike Brown rode so good,His KTM looked as good as the 5,s bike, like always MX338 lived up to it,s reputation for throwing a curve ball into the reries, can,t wait for Dilla.
I remember when Ryno went WORCS racing and made the comment " yeah these guys are fast but none of them have the speed to qualify for a national MX",.... what a dick!!! I love seeing Brown and others do well in MX, helps legitimize off road racing.
Brown was FIM GP MX regular for many years and AMA Nat MX Champ way before WORCS so he has more MX competirion time than off road stuff under his belt, he is no stranger to the MX gate at all and has been raised with MX in his veins 1st, offroad/E cross came later, I wish guys like Dowd and LaRocco moved into GNCC/XC/Enduro. Guy Cooper was a solid competitive off road rider after his MX years were done (been passed by him a couple of times). Caselli with all his poise and Off Road speed (good warm up and training for ISDE) was waaay back (yes he qualified and finished which is a feat for anyone) Dont take it wrong what I am saying, I am a big sports Fan of all these guys. Note, Dietrich was immpressive when he gave AMA Nat MX a shot after being a fast offroad (WORCS Champ) guy his entire career, how he got up to AMA nat MX condition he was trained in the RynoGym/RynoPower School of MX.
