Pulled those cir-clips but cannot get the insert out for anything. Tried hooking into the hole and pulling but cannot get it out. Any thoughts from those that have done it? Thanks

Why? To use an aftermarket set? I think the 630 cans are longer too.

I was having the same problem, so I ran the bike a bit to warm everything up, and then they wiggled right out. The fiberglass comes out in one long piece if you carefully get hold of it. Sound is much, much better now.

Anyway I could beg one of you to get a sound clip? Maybe use your phone camera to take a short vid and post it? I would love to hear how it sounds now.

Great thanks for input. I did think of that and let the bike run a bit. I will try again. It seemed simple enough and now I know I am not doing anything wrong and I will try again and I will get them out this time. When I do will try a sound bite etc.

Okay I went for it. The circlips were easy but wiggled on the inserts for 30 mins with no luck. I went for a 6mile ride to work and when I got there the left (closer to motor) side just pope right out with little/no effort. The right side no luck for another 30 mins. I rode home and tried again but all I got was an incredibly bruised palm from the needle nose pliers!

Sounds real good right now! Will try again tomorrow.

Would anyone be interested in Screaming Demon pipes? I finally reached them, and they said they quickly sold out the 30 they had made. I have 2 TR's, a friend of mine has 2, and we'd both buy for both bikes. I've asked Chris to talk to his manufacturer of them about building more. If we had interest here it seems it wouldn't be a stretch to get another run done. They did no testing unfortunately. They are out in WA and I'm in Queensland or I'd let them use one of mine to test. Anyone out in WA that might be willing to drop in and have a chat to them? Or maybe I should plan a ride out there.... Hmm. Anyone game for a Brisbane to Perth ride? :-)

Yes, definitely interested. I had planned to buy a set early this year. I contacted the seller in WA just before Christmas and was told that it wouldn't be an issue to make up more sets if they ran out of stock (which they obviously have now). I take it from what you say that they may consider a further run only if they have a minimum number of orders. BTW, what do you mean "they did no testing"?

Anyway, I'm a definite for a set of these.

He isn't say anything about minimum order. I sorta had to drag info out of him. Knowing how business works, I just assume they might want to have some assurance they will sell additional units if they produce more.

As for testing, I asked if they had run it on any bikes, if they had any idea how it performed with a Booster Plug or Power Commander, etc. He said no, they only built and sold the 30. I'd say give whomever you talked to a ring again so they can see we are all quite keen to get a few. I'll be asking around this morning at the cafe we all hang out at.

Does anyone have their pipes with a booster? That is my plan and would love to know result. I'm not impressed with the modified stock pipes I've heard.

I popped in for a chat mid 2014 and they mentioned that another production run was unlikely due to low volumes of bikes built. Their can does not use a bracket on the front relying on the pipe joint for support although their rear bracket is stronger than the clamp GPR use. The single Staintune system does utilise a front mounting.

Bummer about the mounting. S'pose I could weld a tab/bracket on it if they'll do another run. I really don't like the look of Staintune's behemoth, nor am I interested in modifying a pannier rack system to accommodate that thing. I know Staintune builds nice stuff... But damn that thing is fugly on a TR.

I'll have to start poking around here and see if I can interest someone in making something up as a side deal. When I lived in USA, there were always guys like Gordy willing to do a small run to make a couple extra $ but not needing to kill it with every product. If Screamin does do another run, I'll ask if they would do a mount for the front. All they can do is say no. Who knows, maybe we get lucky.

I have a screaming demon can setup on mine and there very light compared to stock or some of the others I've messed with.No extra stress on the pipe joint yet, they are a little harder to seal since they rely on that a good amount. Good thing I got mine when I did if there not going to run another set of them.

I have there's with booster plug, huge difference. I put the pipes on before i got the plug and loved it, the lean missfire/stumble off idle and that flat spot was more pronounced however. Since then like I said I installed the booster plug and just finished my air box mod two days ago and wow. It feels like a new bike with those three things done. You can even tell at idle the bike is happier. Got pictures of the cans on the bike if you want to see them?

Did the cans take care of the low-end stumble? Are you running a Booster Plug or Power Commander or anything?

Hey AzOzRider, if you don't mind or want to keep the standard look, Motorcycle Exhaust Professionals are able to cut, modify and re-tig your cans. There in Brisbane, $400, down time is 2 days with prior arrangement. 3308 9377 speak with Pete (boss man) and tell him your preferences like Sound Level, breathing etc. (www.motorcycleexhaustprofessionals.com.au) My husky mechanic advise me to do this because Ive been running the BP for to long, "fouling the cats"... (I disagreed), I mentioned de-catting and he sited "lack of back pressure" Anyway I have not done this mod yet but I am keen.

As for screamin demons, its odd that someone would jig up for the bike and not reuse it. Maybe there gauging demand off ebay, I noticed last night there was still one left.
I had the funds approved for these by my internal accountant (...err wife) but I backed out because of the missing forward mount

They have been keeping one left on eBay for some time, but as of a couple days ago do not have any and haven't for some time. At least that is what Chris at SD told me. I hear you about jigging up. Dunno why you wouldn't run another batch and put a few more $ in your pocket. If they will do more, I will likely buy and just fab up a bracket if it looks to be an issue. Its that or GRP from what I can tell. I'm also going to call around some custom shops and see if I can generate interest.

As for the MEP mod, I am not impressed by it. Mate of mine had it done. Didn't solve the low end stumble (though he has yet to do a BP), and the sound isn't anything to smile about. Good way to burn $400 from what I can tell. 4 of us did a 3 day ride last week, with a friend borrowing the MEP modded bike from owner. He said he wasn't impressed and wouldn't do it if it were his choice. He's been around a long time and owned a lot of bikes.

What a great idea. I have drilled the rear baffle in both my cans with a 16mm drill which gives a bit of a bark but nothing like an aftermarket exhaust.
