• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Fat Bar Clamps ?

Stock bars are 7/8" diameter at the mounts (traditional....standard type steel bars). You didn't specify what measurements you wanted. Sold my stock bars to someone else, so don't have them anymore to measure. But, I think they were about 31 - 32 inches long (fairly typical....except without a crossbar).

Fatbars....which I much prefer....have a 1 1/8" diameter at the center mount. However, they still have the same size on the ends (for grips). They taper down from center to edge.
Hope the info helps.
The reason I'm asking is I'm trying to figure out which fatbar I will be ordering. My Terra is in delivery now and while trying it on at the dealers I found the original bar being too low and bit too forward at the ends. I wanted to compare original height and swipe to that of eg. Renthal Fatbar + higher clamps. Still, I will wait for Terra to arrive. Thanks HF anyway.

Good deal.....you made a great decision getting the bike. One I think you won't regret.

I am very pleased with the Fatbar Clamps from Motosportz......excellent machining. Those should work perfectly with Renthal Fatbars.

The bar is Rental 998, Clamps are FMF
Wadejesu (or any other members) - just bought my terra and the dealer could not get their bar risers/clamps to work (Renthals). Have email out to Motorsportz for a set of theirs, but if they don't have any more, what did you use? I can't seem to find any FMF clamps on the web. Would love more info - the stock bars don't work for me and am anxious to get the fat bars set up. Thanks.

I'm sure motosportz will have more in stock soon- but you can use just about whatever you want so long as you use your noggin a little bit. These are 998's with protaper universal risers. Not a bolt on, but not rocket science either. If you have limited fab skills I'd just wait for the ones that fit.

I returned the Motosportz/TrailTech fat bars as they wouldn't accommodate the inserts for Acerbis hand guards, ended up with Easton fat bars which turned out a little cheaper anyway. And the red risers/clamps do look good!

Could you please give me the specifics on both the clamps & the bars as the setup looks amazing... I have teh same handgaurds so i know it will work. Could you please give me teh websites you ordered these parts from... if you ever in Vancouver I owe you beers!

Couldn't get any more Bar Risers from Motozport...so I made some at work to go with my BONZ Hand Guard Mounts and Zeta XC Guards (the ones with the Flashers built in the guard.)
Cleans up the front end rather nicely.

Hey HuskyDude,
The front end of your Terra looks smicko! Could I ask where you purchased your clear screen from?
Cheers Skeeta
