Finally got myself a 87 XC

The AE is beautiful still, cant wait to roll out the XC for a comparison.

Using some old things i had kicking around.
DC shrouds that i bought years ago, save the other ones.
They fit OK with a some trimming for a rider..
Old HP swing arm decal kit lol, time to stick em before they don't.

Proper rear travel now, hanging on a XC shock
Rebuilding the $50 forks, found on facebook, they are in great shape.





Open up the 430 for a service/check over



I have had the nut off before and just torque it to spec...

Tired old crank, i don't know and don't care. Good time to fix it now.
1/2 hour or so later, a very good solid repair and off I go..



Good oil and a 4 year old heavily ridden clutch, but looking like new still.

Time for another bearing behind the basket, basket still sweet and toss some other new spare part in.
I think i should use one now, got a bunch of these in a box of NOS stuff last year on facebook.

Top end gaskets being change but i found nothing ugly and a happy feeling rod still.

Off the build table, still very light feeling. Picked it up as is, to set it on the stand.
Tire and wheel bearings next, ready to roll it out off the house soon.

Something i had to do for the DC plastics lack of inner structure to keep air on the rads.

Where did you get the O Bag and can i get them for a twin shock?

Fix a sent or 2, a little paint. 3 options for silencers and going with non stock..

why on earth does your 87 have an 86 or earlier clutch????????

Because the motor was once in a 400 XC and then one time a 430 jug found its way on to it. Like it matters to me, i'm just going to ride it Greg..

New tires done, wired and ready to run with fluids added.
Build a brake hose and awaiting the shock bumper from Phil..
