Thanks. I do have two sets of spacers and these are the same , one came with the wheel the other with the forks. What ever axle used needs to be almost as long as the stock one, It could be that the 2003 and up have a longer axle to go with the larger fork tubes. I'll use what I have for now.
They stopped production on the yz426 in 02 if im not mistaken. Not sure if the 426 axle is the same as later model yz's. My axle sits about 3/8" inside the right fork but mounts up fine otherwise.
All reading this Post in this forum. As a moderator I have done more housekeeping in this thread than I care to or normally do. It has gone from all over the radar to several being disrespectful and sarcastic to other members. Bottom line this whole thread is a stones throw from being shut down. Have a new unrelated idea? ...start a new thread. Disagree with someone?....ok...but no need to post that. Someone did it different than you?....yep...there can be multiple ways to solve a problem. post what you did and why. every one got it? Good Joe
So got the bike back from pro motion suspension. Lowered, cut spring, and revalved to my weight/extra bike weight. He confirmed the wheel is definitely sitting offset from center. I did not notice any issues rode strait with no hands on the way down to the shop. I just had d606s put on front and back and the ride back from the shop was uneventful but the bike felt squirly. I hear the d606 needs to be scrubbed in before they settle down. Also the 130 rear seems to let me flick the bike around much easier. Was just wondering if anyone who has done that swap has noticed any issues caused by the front tire not being centered. I am heading to eastern WA after work for a 5 day camp/ride i will report my results when i get back next week.
I noticed going to a 606 front from the original Sahara then Mitas EO7 noticeably impaired the road performance, ie. steering stability, paticularly at low speeds and spirited cornering. That said, they're great on the dirt. Contributing to this effect on the front end is worn/notched steering head bearings. At my peril I never checked/re-greased them and with the 606 up front it induces a wobble at high speed when cornering.
Stock triple? If so did you mill the lower triple out the extra 1mm? Also what are you charging for the axle/spacers and caliper adaptor(if they are for sale)? I think i want to go with the stock wheel, the weird offset to the left is bugging the **** outta me. I found the oversized brake rotor for the yz was enough, but left me wanting more some times on the road as i came up to a stop.
