After trying the Golden Tyre GT216AA fatty front on my 250 husky and loving it when I needed another front I jumped on another one from the good peeps at ZipTy Racing but wanted to try the standard sized one as this is going on a smaller 250. Even so it dwarfs the Comp III mich that was on there. Really look forward to trying this setup. I just put a trials tire on the rear for the NW wet winter gnar and been loving that. This one looks like it means business, hoping for some of the same goodness as the bigger one. We will see...

Is there a difference in price? I have over 250 miles of Moab/southern Nevada rocks on mine and it is pristine still. Doesn't look like there is much difference between it and the fatty.

216 worked fantastic yesterday in the NW slop and snow. Love those tires. Feels slightly more accurate and less heavy than the fatty and had slightly less bump absorption. I love these GT216's. More report and vids coming.

No but those are identical to the Pro Wheel "Hardcore Series" and I have heard they don't work well but are inexpensive and last a while.

Are they DOT? Thinking about using this as a front and the new Motoz trials tire as a rear.

Which trials tire is that? Seems like a pretty good setup for our NorCal winter riding. I just wish the dang GTs weren't so expensive.

Motoz Hybrid I am assuming. We also have a new trials tire in stock, haven't tested it yet though...

Good to know. I want one for my old IT and was a little concerned that the fatty might rub the fork gaiters. My honey is already getting fast enough that she thinks she needs one and soon!

The rear I am running on that pic is the Dunlop 803, I like them in the winter here for slick rocks and roots. The Motoz MTN Hybrid is not out for about another month. I would like to try the Golden rear.

The GT 257 is a 4.00-18 but it says it uses a 120-80 mousse which makes me think it is wider than a standard trials tire. It does have a tougher compound, not sure how it will hold up.

No, that is a totally different tire. The 257 is a trials tire that has the ability to be self cleaning in mud. The tire you are thinking about is a rally type tire that sacrifices grip for high speed/distance.

Trials tires have a very thin center carcass allowing the knobs to flex around surfaces and grip, where as a Rally tire has a thick hard center section for strength and durability.
