I can't believe I keep missing all of the racing. I wish they would just sell all the races on DVD at the end of the season

sweet RV2 is my homeboy from WA choice to win it all again ... I'm gonna give js7 the benefit of a doubt to start the season ... I think he was crashed enough and he realizes now he must somehow finish each race ... Everyone else is a party in the show but are just also rans to RV2 and js7 ... Of course, js7 may crash his season away again ... TC41? A contender but I'm sure he does not wanna eat the big one again ... Shorty? I hope he has his best season ever this year .... Sorry ....I just had to blurt all that out ... Now back to the regularly scheduled program...
He's from Poulsbo, right? Not too far from Bangor and Silverdale. With the exception of the Mrs, we're pulling for anybody/everybody on the line with a 951 area code. The Mrs. will be pulling for her new favorite - Eli Tomac. Hey, he impressed her out at Vegas. He was right in the middle of an interview and stopped to take a pic a picture with her. I like Short too. He's a hard working guy and real class act. I think if Canard can channel Ronnie Mack he'll be ok.
RV2 is from CA and yep, lives is Poulsbo which is just a few miles north on Silverdale ... Eli should far well I think on the track and apparently he is a ladies man also ... AS is a class act ... Right up there with Kdub and AS did get a win last yr finally ... I was watching him ride that 350 to glory and he handled the swap between the hondo and pimkin companies very well... He said hondo VPs were suits and worked like clockwork and professional while the pinkim VPs were all about racing ... He helped dial in the 350 for sx racing ... TC41 was doing very well in the sx stuff his rookie yr and maybe even won a race but then would fall off in a race and out of the points contention and then all the crashing started for him ... He has potential for sure ... Before his crashes he was a true contender, showing more speed each race as a young rider ... I'm just not sure what he is gonna show after the long layoff and crashes ... He's still young and might be in the hunt ... He rode well at MXdN and is probably over due to get off the 250s ... Last yr sort of looked like the 450s guys we lagging just a little with so many riders out in the MX season ... It was like they had to move a few riders up to 450s ... I'd think he will light it up but not sure how well he'll hang for the entire season ... RD5 is one of the few that won the title as a rookie and that was with a depleted field ... RV2 for one knows the deal and can deal with everyone in the gate ... Barcia included ... -- Is Ken Roczen on a 450\350 this year? His MXdN race was very good to say the least and 2 yrs ago at MXdN, RV2 had to put quite a move on him to get around him ... And it was a great RV2 type move that he can pull off and not crash anyone ..
Not sure how it all turned out but CR22 was racing sx down under or somewhere a couple months ago but I'm not sure on how all that played out ... He'll come in hot or at least warm if no issues hit him ... He can contend with good starts but I'd say with this crowd, he can be a podium guy maybe but these youngsters are gonna be blazing ...
"RV2 is from CA" Ya, I had heard he had a place out in Menifee, CA Just up the 215 freeway from Temecula. Todd Potter, Scott Champion and Austin Politelli are also over in Menifee. Canard is just a champ. I would like to see him get back in the game and look forward to his comeback. His last accident was gnarly and he's lucky to be walking. For an Okie he's alright. Reed is probably gonna be looking to prove he's back and not over the hill. He looked strong at the MEC so it's not too far from reality that he could make a charge. As for Bam-Bam and Eli; looong overdue for a 450. The kids are animals - real competitive out on the track. I half feel like there's going to be a changing of the guard at the 450 level.
cr22 nearly killed himself trying to run RV2's exact lines last yr before he crashed... In the monster cup race this yr, RV2 sent everyone a message he's back and sorry, but unless RV2 crashes or the green machine breaks, the only change in the 013 sx championship with be that the trophy handed to the man the resides in Poulsbo, WA, will be stamped 2013 instead of 2012 ...
Ya, but he didn't even race the main. He packed up and left after his crash in the second moto. Even Dungey stuck it while having to shift by hand. RV is going to have to go bar-to-bar w/Bam-Bam this season. I'm not a fan of Barcia's, but he's big, strong, scary fast and a bully in the corners. This will carry over to the 450's.
Right, as I said, RV2 is not driven to win every race and apparently he did not want any more money that night either ... He came back after sitting out the last of the sx season (where he was the Champion) and the entire MX season while his competition was riding ... He proved his point that his racing speed is apparently still superior to every one else on the track because he blew them all away ... Then he crashed and hung it up .. You can say he should have rode for the fans and what ever in this $$ only race but this is a business for these guys ... He proved that after all that layoff time, he's got the speed ... Everyone out there is gonna have to deal with the reigning SX champion, not just the popular rookie riders ... The reigning champion has kicked every one of their butts in sx, MX, MXdN, and the Monster Cup before ... He even kicked every 450 butt on the track riding a 250 a few yrs back at MXdN, including RC3 ...RV2 did not get fast last yr ... He was born fast ... Not sure how much you have watched Stew race through the years but he is big bad bully also at times .... And it has cost him how many races and entire seasons sitting on the side lines and also possible championships? That's why I'm giving stew the benefit of a doubt this yr at the opening round that he will not crash this season away again ... You never know... Maybe the bullies will find each other and play their own little game as stew and cr22 have done in the past ... Stepping up to a 450 is not always a given ... Stew again is a great example to use here ... When he came up from a 250 to the 450s, there was alot of talk about he may not be able to ride a 450 ... And if you look at his record on a 450 and remove the yr he went undefeated in the MX season in 2008, he has not got alot to show other than announcers kissing his butt so much it is hard to watch a race and youtube full of his spectacular crashes, both alone and taking others down with him... Its gotta be proven you can ride a 450 at this level and against this level of competition for more that a race or single season ... Myself, I wish every rider in the gate safe racing this entire season. I gotta say this about Stew again ... Stew does it all without even trying ... He just shows up, flashes a big smile, the cameras turn on, and the party starts! Time and the record books show that rookies and old guys (I think) do not usually win championships here ... TC41 could not do it just recently .. maybe this shake-shake-boom-boom guy can defy the odds ... Or maybe Eli or who ever else is a rookie can be added to that rookie championship winner along with RD5 and the other 1 or 2 guys that have accomplished it. Please check Vegas for the odds on each of these guys winning the championship and place your bets accordingly ... Its been kind of nice (I think) the last few yrs to see these guys race hard and not crash each other out of the picture with the crap stew or cr22 were doing just a few yrs back when they loose their cool and make an amateurish move because they can't really beat someone and a crash is their only chance at winning ... All that crap falls under 'just racing', right? Please excuse all these words ... I just don't have a job and anything better to do at this moment ...
Please excuse all these words ... I just don't have a job and anything better to do at this moment ... It's all good. I'd like to NOT have a job sometimes. Sometimes.... I was gonna respond but I just had an emergency come up.
Cool and hope all is well ... The smack talking is just about over, its Jan 5, 2013 here today in the east .... The past has also shown these first couple of races can take a toll on the riders ... Lets hope that is not the case here ... PS -- You gonna learn how to not have a job and still have a life ... we're so conditioned to spend our time pushing some envelope forward that we know nothing else sometimes ... Even when we put on that retired crown, its hard for many ...
Ya, it was just work related stuff. Had some drama out in Pearl City. Man, they REALLY need to raise ASVAB scores!!! Now, back to the smack talking! TC41 looked great as did Millsaps - did NOT see that coming (Millsaps is F-A-S-T!!!). Bam-Bam looked legit, JS7 so-so. Tomac shined when he had to and K-Roc's off-season workouts seemd to have paid off. RD5 and CR22 looked good but were never really in it (imo). RV1 started out strong but crash and burned way too much in the main (I think three times). K-Dub pulled off another transfer jump then bunny-hopped a few tough blocks. Really happy to see Lieb and Osborne out there as well. Osborne could have a good season. Bummed about Scott Champion and Kevin Weisbruch not having better showings (Weisbruch and my kid went to HS together in Temecula and Champion was a neighbor when we lived in Menifee). Monster Energy Girls - awesome as always. Didn't take many pics in the pits or of the races but what I did take I've posted below (note the old iron - love that stuff)
Yep, there were quite a few interesting things that happened out there ... Really hard to keep up with all of it ... I didn't even know RC3 is a team owner now ... No Ivan "Hot Sauce" Tedesco riding this yr? Lieb running sx now? I'm still with RV2 but he has his work cut out ... Unless several riders have bad luck, he'll have to run off a big string of 1st, 2nd places to make up all that ground ... Bad luck can happen to anyone but not everyone .. If anyone can pull this off, he can do it but but but ... There are alot of fast guys way ahead but it is usually best to start off slow rather than end up slow at the end of a season... Thats about true with any sport ... I'm not sure on Mills just because I have never followed him but he has been racing long enough (I think) and should have the maturity to handle what is in front of him ... He had his baby on the podium with him after the race ... -- Way back (~1974) I almost purchased a Montesa as they were sold very close to me in the great state of AR (unbelievable right? And Hodakas were sold there also by the same guy who had a gas station ) ... I saw the movie 'On Any Sunday' and its been a Husqvarna world ever since ... Hard to believe that yamma-hammer put that bike out with the strap on the tank, but there it is ... Check out that frame on that Penton ... And all bike companys apparently were concerned with the riders rear end just judging by the amount of cushion in those seats ...
Ya, Hot Sauce was just at the World Vets this last go-around so he might be retired. I dunno.... Leib has been out here off/on over the last year. He races in the Two-Stroke Championships as well (he dominated on ten year old bike). I think he tried to qual for A1 last year but fell short. Having these kids come home from Europe to race is good for the sport. RC and H&H did team up. They had a big press party out at Sycuan Casino in San Diego to promote it. The Dad of one of the kids my kid hangs out with works for H&H so we went over to the pit for a few minutes to hang out. None of the big names were there at the time. I never really thought of Millsaps as being that fast, but he was Saturday night! The old iron is great, ain't it? I remember going to see On Any Sunday as a kid with pops at the Bijou in Escondido, CA. I wanted to be Kenny Roberts for the longest time after that. Spaing of OAS, they still hold the Elsinore GP every year. It's held in November.
