Alright, I'll see if I can have it checked when it goes to the shop later this week. How much does a temp sensory usually cost? It can't be outrageous.. can it?

Can't say I don't love it when a part I possibly need is under $20, thanks 1lunger! Appreciate the feedback :D

My bike is still running awesome! No idea what the issue was but seems to be resolved. What a difference with PU!

Is it possibly the hose from your gas tank was jammed in such a way that is was blocking it from being able to breathe? I noticed the other day when my bike was running unusually strange that the hose was blocked; I re-arranged it a bit and it ran a lot better. Something to keep in mind the next time (if there is a next time) your bike doesn't seem to be running properly.

I'm not sure how much of a difference something small like that makes, but it must count for something!

My bike is back to running half-assed, I'm going to have the temp sensor checked this week, hoping that's the majority of my problem. Today my bike almost stalled when I was down shifting to first. Don't know if it's because the bike had been sitting in the blazing hot sun for an hour or what, but it scared me.

Bad gas is #1 tank can't breath is #2 battery is going #3 check these things before you spend money at a dealer

I'm getting a new battery anyway to shave some weight, bad gas is possible I guess but I have no real way to tell for sure. My bike is going in to have the wheels taken off and stored for the weekend while I have the rims painted; I'm just going to ask him about the temp sensor while I'm there, he will figure it out I'm sure. Either way, $10-$15 isn't much and it might not hurt to have an extra one lying around just in case. I'm turning into a parts hoarder bit by bit haha

Decided to post back here since this is where I got the TE ECU from.

Big thanks to "rickcj7" for selling me his old TE ECU. I didn't realize how easy it was to install, I just threw it in the bike and went for a quick 5 minute ride to see what the difference was. All I can say is WOW!!

It's seriously like a completely different bike, the amount of "grunt" it has now is amazing. I didn't play too rough when I had it out because it was new to me and I didn't want to hurt myself or the bike, but I can already tell it's going to be a great time.

I have no doubt that if I roll on hard in second, I can get my front end off the ground, no way was that going to happen with the SMS ECU.

I still get a little hesitation/gentle surging but it's better than before; even without tweaking the JD Tuner. I expect once I dial that in, the bike will run great without a doubt.

I'll be sure to post back and let you know more once I play around a little and find out just how much better it really is. But as of right now, I'm sticking with AMAZING!!

Thanks again Rick, it wasn't cheap but I wouldn't go back on the deal even if I had a chance.

    Cheers!

Does anyone want to sell their SMS ecu? Any reason why it wouldn't work on a TE to get you home?

Would work, and some like the smoother, less snappy throttle response of the SMS ecu in their TE.
I think I'm keeping mine as a spare....

I may consider selling you my SMS ECU, just give me a little time to get a feel for this new one, I'm sure I'm going to keep it but I just want to be safe. I'll have to get back to you next week, tomorrow is my only riding day left this week; the rims are going in for paint on Friday so I wont have them back until Sunday or Monday.

I'll post back or message you when the time comes and see if you're still interested.

    Cheers!
