The 360 I have (2000) is pretty much the same bike as that and the one Kelly bought. They have made some slight updates between that and 2000 but nothing really major and the zoke 45's have to be seriously revalved to be as good as the showa's. They made minor changes to the swingarm/rear brake mostly but that is not a huge deal. They really are a nice all around trail bike. They aren't the best for 2-5mph sh*t holes but work great everywhere else. I almost left mine for salvage(I'm kidding) on a 3 hour trec to cover 4 miles of absolute hell summer before last. It just has a little too much off idle for that kind of crap. So the take home is it doesn't make a good trials bike, certainly not geared for a ~90 mph top speed.

Walt, the 92 and 94 i have are similar but different swingarms and bits. But they are actually quite different from your 2000 even though they look very similar. Motor is completely different. PV and water plumbing are totally different and not many parts interchange. Same with the frame and sub frame, slightly different. Adam and I sat and stared at my 94 WXC250 and his 07 WR25o side by side one day and they are VERY similar yet nearly nothing interchanges. It's odd, everything is almost exactly the same :D Anyway great platform no matter what year. I still like the slim eurgos on the 2000-04 style like yours too

    Kelly,

Husky didn't make the change to the new PV/Head/cylinder configuration of the later WR250's with the 360. It is exactly the same motor as you have in the '92. The only changes they made in 20 years of production to that motor were to fix the kick back/break the case issue. They probably made slight changes in carburation/reed valves and pipes but the rest is the same. When something works why change it.

    Kelly,

A couple things that I did to my 360 that helped rideability. Replace the stock reeds with Boyesen two stage reeds. A flywheel weight makes the bottom much more civil. I opened up the intake boot and reed valve stuffer so the motor could breath better in the mid/top. Really had no effect on the bottom at all but lets it pull a little longer before dropping off. When you pull the carb you will see what I mean. 38mm carb that feeds into a boot/stuffer that is about 32 mm in diameter. Mine really likes the 39mm PWK. :excuseme: I have installed the 38mm airstriker before and while a little crisper on the bottom, it really didn't want to run in the mid/top like the 39. The crisper bottom really isn't what you want. The stock TM carb will probably work fine at lower elevations but like the TMX, I just couldn't get it to work well on the bottom/idle at higher elevations. As you know I have the EFM auto clutch on mine and with it you will never pull that stiff clutch, ever. It probably really doens't need the auto as you can't stall this motor. You have ridden mine and that is what I have done to make it the pussy cat that it is. I also have the auto decomp head, not a necessity. One thing that I really like about it is that you can bump start the bike off an ant hill.

Good info Walt, thanks. I did not know they kept the old motor in the newer 360's.

Got out a rode it yesterday. Turned out to be an Epic ride. Bike worked fantastic, I'm stoked. Motor runs near perfect, nice strong but EZ to use bottom end, pretty hard mid range hit and not a ton on top. Ended up short shifting and grunting all over as the frozen ground offered little traction. So the power and gearing and anything related to the motor was near perfect for me. As for the rest of the bike i really like it. For some reason it feels shorter and more flickable than my 94. Seem like real similar bikes other than the swingarm, maybe the 92 swingarm is shorter? Euros are nice (seat is a little low but got used to it), suspension works quit good but will go to Les some day soon as i really like the bike and want it to work as good as it can. Turns good. This bike reminds me a lot of my buddies 08 GG300 but the 360 runs better and has more roll on power. Feels small, low and kinda light. Love it. BTW the mid range is VERY strong and can get away from you if you not ready. Will light the rear tire at will (huge M5B tire too). I almost launched the bike to the moon playing in a gravel pit, hit the mid range and rocketed. No issues on the trail as short shifting works great and mellows out the bike.

Buddy Blake was on a newer KTM 300 with a trial tire.

man thats a steal. very nice bike. I would eventually want to find something similair. Nothing older than say 90.
My old 86 cr250 was rock solid stable at high speeds. I loved the feel and handling of that bike. None of the newer bikes have that same "feel" to them. But maybe its just me?

Kelly the FWW and the 400 cam in the G-2 Throttle were all installed to manage that mid-range burst. Of course a little more talent would suffice too.

Super clean Husky. For the price, you can beat it. I like the carbon fiber graphics on the shrouds and the seat cover.

Absolutely beautiful - the bike too!
Reminds me of when i lived in Calgary....very close to the mountains as well, but not as many nice trails (Federal parks - Banff).
Im really going to have to find a place to take my TC250 in the mountains this summer.

Short shifting is a very good way to calm a 2t beast and still go really fast ... and its ~safe... Nice pics and good to see riders who ride and don't mind the weather ;)

When you have more than 2' of heavy, crusty snow at the bottom of your ride no amount of studding allows you to ride with wheels on a dirt bike. I need a snow bike.
