If you had asked me what I wanted when I was a teenager just starting to seriously ride offroad, I would have told you that I wanted a 1972 Penton more than anything else in the world. I would still love to have a 1972 Penton/KTM, but not another new model.
thanks for all the replies. i won't be buying one for a few months as i am recovering from a motorcycle vs car accident 3 weeks ago. as far as the looks of the bike, i like the looks, BUT i plan on upgrading the headlight and going with a larger tank. so it'll look a bit different(i would do the same if i bought a KTM). now i need to do some lurking on the other threads on this forum.
Good to see a fellow Coffs Harbion on here. I grew up in Sawtell & you obviously know that there is some of the best riding in Aus in the area.
I would. I have had mine for about 3 months and love it. This is my first HUSKY and could have bought a BMW or a KTM. I make the right decision. I have always wanted a Husky since I bought my first 1968 Hodaka 90 when I was in the 6th grade. Another dream realized.
Do not Encourage the OP He Was a MANIAC on a KLR. On a 450 it will be scary. And Charles, why aren't you considering the 630 or a used/leftover 610? They are 'big' bikes, relatively... but compared to the KLR in a whole different realm, and this will be your daily driver and only vehicle, right? Maintenance interval is everything if that's the case. And lastly, dude, have you seen how me and Biggie mistreat our bikes? But they are still going strong
Good: I really like my 2010 tc250...dealers are very good. Very reliable bikes so far. I have less issues on Huskies than on ktm's. So not going back to orange anytime soon. Bad: (and maybe why I will not get another husky...) No way I'm buying a rebadged gs450x dual sport as an MX bike. Original parts are very, very hard to get compared to any other brand. I hear that's being worked on for the better in Canada. The only bike that will be somewhat fresh and not designed in the 90's is the 250. I may just get another one but wanted a 450 as second bike. If I go for a 450 it will be green as it stands right now.
I've only been back in the off-road world for a year after spending 8 years riding BMW's. My 09 WR 125 was a pain in the butt the whole year I had it. Upgrade kit, jetting it every new moon etc. The 010 TXC 250 I had had issues from the get go. Maybe I'm expecting to much, but I want a bike that's race ready from the dealer, and something I don't have to always be wondering how it's going to run the next time out. Looks to me like Husky should do the figuring it out part at the factor and not at the dealer or the customers garage, then release the bikes. Not a good business plan to me. I still read this forum everyday in hopes that I can find out when Husky will improve their products. A dealer closer to Charlotte, NC would also help. Until then, I'll keep riding my 010 200 XC-W and loving every minute of it. This is by far the best moto forum out there and you guys know more and do more for the brand than Husky themselves! They should be paying you guys for all you do. I'll buy another bike next year and I'll take a serious look at the 2011 Husky lineup. WR Bob
Im sold on husky's. I like having something a bit different. I bought an 09 wr125, changed the carb to a pwk and its been great. Last bike was a well used 07 tc250 and it never let me down or had any issues other than the odd flame out.
Please send money, sounds good to me. To the original person that started this thread, it depends entirely on what bike you want, how close you live to your dealer, and how you are going to use it. There have been some issues, but there are many good things about the Husqvarna bikes.
another husky my 08 te 450 is a bit too much of a trail bike for me,[yes i,ve done everything to it]definitly not a bad bike but id like more hit in the motor and a bit better suspension[its been to ltr]i think i want a txc with lights and blinkers.I got the te cause its street legal, never tried a ktm ds
I trail ride and mostly ST stuff. I just love the bike. I sold it a couple of days ago and will get a run out 310 or 450. I thought intially a 310 (pinch my brothers a lot for a ride and its brilliant and 100% stock) but upon reflection will get another 450. Just loved my Huskies. Now had a 510 and 2 450's. Not one has mechanically failed me. They are just great trail machines, very well sorted and balanced chassis, great brakes and ergs and bullet proof engines. The only niggle is that up in the mountains in winter they can be a bit slow to start. I found the iridium plugs changed that 100%, also improved fuel economy imho.
Yes I would. I just bought a TE450. I also got some 17's and SM it on the street. I have a Honda, and a Yamaha dirt bikes. I like them but the husky is great. I did some research on the KTM, Beta and Husky before i got the bike. Husky won. Plus i got a great price at a good dealership.
