    thanks from me too

Just on the lowering compression option - extra base gasket just wondering if anyone has done this ?
I am mainly trying to make my 300 easier to kick

I do use 3 Base gaskets...
This will lower compression but also do alter Port timing and make your engine revs more...

Hmmm...interesting. I'm about to do piston rings on my 300 and have a few extra base gaskets. So far I was just going to do the rings, replace the same gasket, then if she still kicks and starts hard try retard the timing. I could have a squish issue, but not sure I want to decrease compression or change port timing

When i was rebuilding my engine i saw the Transfer Ports not fully open with only 1 Base gasket. As i m a 125 rider f more than 15 years i decided to take away some bottom end power an adding some overrev instead.

If its got a .5mm gasket I was only thinking of adding a .3mm or another .5mm gasket

I spoke to someone at a ride a while back who new someone in Brisbane that does decompression head conversions ( like on the 360 ) but I don't know who that was

If you add a lot of base gasket thickness I d say you'd need to get the head machined to correct a too thick squish band or it will be harder to jet correctly

To retard the timing a fraction how much would you turn the stator plate ? 1mm ?

    From another post
"don't get too bogged down a couple mm BTDC and try it if it seems flat advance it, if it sounds aggressive and or pings retard it"
    I'm thinking 1mm at a time

Often thought of trying to fit a decomp head to the 360 but after looking at the work required in welding and polishing...might spend the dollars on maintenance.

I got one sat on my shelf doing sweet FA
Its got chainsaw decomp in it and a 10mm sparky thread, if you find an auto decomp with 10mm thead then your off.
