Jesus Christ Calm down guys, it is a almost redy prototype. They should BE BLACK! And ugly. I am pretty sure that italien design take care of that later. Best regards Klas
True........ true.......but, the cheesy white H's look so ghetto. If you ask me leave it sterile and black for now aside from # plates. Reminds me of the poverty teenager days and black electrical tape numbers! (Sucked if you had a 3 or 8 in you #!)
wonder if its going to be a tall bike... kinda makes me look at euro bikes having a seat at 3iches lower than a husky... shits me as a small guy, short ass ! ...lol.... and no, lowering links are not good !
Hi there Tell me wy husky should be 3 inches higher than all other eur bikes? It is nearly 70 mm. Husky is produced on the same planet. I don´t think Husqvarna have released any tecnical data yet. If you read some of the post here. One of the new thing about it is the linked rear suspension And Joe! Good for you that you don´t need electrical tape any more
Thanks for the link^^ Site looks cool, wish I spoke better Spanish. There's a helmetcam video preview of the course there. Looks like some challenging trail.
Here are a few words from this page , translated via google .. A fifth in the scratch for Juha Salminen in the Enduro Peroxid with the new BMW-Husqvarna , rather, Husqvarna 450 . The Italian made 450 adopts as its own and BMW G450X seems that a principle will cease to exist. It will be in September 2010 when the series finally see the light of the new transformation of the BMW. Text and photos: Befurious & Dirty Worx The Finn led the race until the fourth and final round where an unwelcome fall in a special stage was shortened in the morning, relegated him to fifth final and second in his category, Enduro 2 . The new BMW-Husqvarna , even prototype to be presented to the world next weekend in the GP of Lovere the World Enduro surprising. The new machine adopts the advantages of the BMW and archiprobadas virtues of the Italian brand, a bike that dazzled today, was the focus of the paddock in A peroxide and has been one step short of victory. he presence of managers and engineers from BMW and Husqvarna staff of the small town of Orense today did not go unnoticed around the world and both the Director General of BMW Motorrad Spain as the Director General of Husqvarna, explicitly come from Italy , wanted to know from the mouth of its pilot, Juha Salminen , the impressions of his first test in the race. The Finn, a man of few words, summed up his performance in a firm way, "the perfect bike and I can not make any more mistakes." Certainly from the Enduro Becerreá 2009 and the last test of the World 2009 held in France , 12 times world champion had not won a test of the Spanish national or global favored by failings of others, but now fighting one on one with Aaron Bernardez (KTM), Ivan Cervantes (KTM), Oriol Mena (Husaberg) and the winner of the first day Peroxid , Cristobal Guerrero (Yamaha), extremely fast in the stretch. From Befurious we show the world premiere photos to detail the new symbiosis of the BMW G450X and Husqvarna TE 450 . Until now we had only seen pictures of the desired quality discrete saddle. You enjoy them!
Hey Kelly thanks for those awesome close up shots.... Sounds like Juha had nothing but praise for the bike.....but admitted his mistake cost him dearly I'm not a 450 guy...but I think I will start stuffing the piggy bank (effective immediately) just in case Nothing like a freshly minted Husky Anyone notice the TWO fuel screw type petcocks...????
I'm pretty sure that's for servicing the bike. Since the rear main tank gravity feeds into a fuel pump slosh chamber, it's nice to be able to seal off the fuel in each chamber in order to remove the main tank and not loose fuel or have to have a pinch clamp or quick disconnect that can be prone to fail on a dirt bike with all the vibration and contaminants it would be exposed to. I think the electrical tape over the BMW stamping on the stator cover is a funnier detail though. Almost looks like they ground it off and then taped over it to conceal the remnants, lol I sure hope they decide to make one frame for all designations (TE, TXC, and TC) so that there is the sidestand mount already there, just don't offer the sidestand on the TXC/TC's and customer can buy it separately and if they want to grind it off to save a few grams then so be it. It's a lot harder to add a side stand to those models for folks using them in desert or enduro competions where a some sort of stand makes for a very nice feature (that always bugged me on my TXC)
The electrical tape shows a good attitude by someone and Juha ankle is hurt to some degree the Enduro Peroxid last weekend ... He was leading day 1 and crashed in a technical section on day 2 that was crashing everyone and I guess his status is up in the air ... I missed this part somehow in the first post above about this Peroxid event ...
I am going to put a piece of black tape on my BMW to see if that mod will give it 8 more HP like Husky claims!! I will report back....
Go over Thumper Talk, it's now up to a 10 HP increase. Next week it will be an astonishing 13+ HP gain, those Italians must know more than the square heads. I believe there will be a gain in the TC version compared to the original BMW street legal bike, the exhaust for closed course will help along with some porting.
8hp is easily obtained on an offroad only competition model at 480cc displacement (510 replacement which was 501cc's) The 480cc big bore kit offers 3-4hp and the addition of a PowerCommanderV to the BMW G450X nets another 3-4hp without any engine modifications but having a full exhaust. So if they play with cams and put out a hotter EFI tune/map then BMW was willing to do with the 36/36 warranty it had here in the USA, then 10 hp increase could be possible on the new 5xx offering from HSQ, but 8hp is attainable over a stock G450X. To get 8-10 hp on 450cc's would be a race only engine I'm pretty sure as the compression and cam timing to get that would be a high maintenance proposition IMHO.
lol..... & give Big Daddy Don Garlits a call ... He can help with the nitro ... Big Daddy says you can keep your warranty also ...
fact is that these are motors, all the usual hot rod stuff applies there really is nothing new to add to the hot book on 4 strokes that is all ready beaten into the ground. To be sure all the dirt bike motors are not particularly powerful in spec anyway, compared to F1, world superbike, MotoGp etc etc. 1000cc wsbk bikes are in the low 200hp zone (210-230@) that would be at least a 50hp 250cc MX2 machine. which I am sure there are some MXGP teams pushing the high 40 and near or into the 50 mark. My point ...hmm our dirtbikes are not particularly powerful from the get go, but they have more than 99% of riders can exploit to the max. My point not made is that 99% of all of us here cant use all the power that a oem, doggone 250cc 4T puts out anyway so who cares about 10hp more from a 450 that only top tier racers can exploit. PS all the stuff about this new 450 is fun to read, this bike will be just fine, no worries except for the cash to buy one!!. R one more wise arse comment If the 10 extra HP from your 450 can make you actually circulate a course faster then more power to you, I bet cash that that is not the case for almost every one on this site. so the HP is a moot point after all. until you present the machine to the top tier MX world,,,,even WEC enduro riders are sure to be happy with a more docile machine.
Yep after 40+ hp the rest is lost on me. I know I am slow but I can't imagine that more would do anything other than slow most of us down. I still can't get my head wrapped around the fenders but that is far from a deal breaker. The bike will be a knock out in Husky red and white. Walt
Look at the New 2011 KTM. It looks like the same V type front fender? The husky flares out on the sides though?
