So is this a 125 with the 144 kit in the crate to dealer install or assembled 144 right from the Factory?

I dont know. I ordered 4 of them so I will find out when they arrive I guess. MY gut tells me that the 144 kit comes in the crate with the bike for the dealer to install. They are only $400 more than the 125 and if you still have a brand new 125 top end as a spare, it is a pretty good deal IMO.

I fitted the OEM kit to my 2006 WR125 yesterday. No dramas, everything works. My kit came with new power valves luckily as the 06 ones are completely different.

As a direct comparison to the 125 it feels faster everywhere. I was hoping for low down 250f style torque but its more motorcrossy to be honest. The bike broke traction in 6th gear in a straight line on a well graded smooth gravel road as it came onto the power band which it wouldn't have even thought about previously.

It feels quicker than a fresh 250 EXC-F that I rode last weekend, but less dieselly. It would be a rocket ship in the 250F/150 class in the hands of fast rider. So light.

I need to get it into the hills to see how it chuggs.

125 jetting seems fine. Plug is dry and brown. Response is crisp.

You put the kit on a 2006 WR125. What carb are you running, Mikuni or Keihn and whats your Jetting? I want to put the kit on my 2007 WR 125. Also what gearing are you running and any other mods? Keep us posted how it does in the woods and on the hills.
    Thanks Bill

My tought as well. Pulls very hard on the top end. I believe I can improve the mid with different powervalve springs.

The biggest improvement I made to my 2010 CR is advancing the ignition a little (approx. 1/8th of an inch). Really brought the bike back to life.

Yep 06 WR125. Mikuni carb, unsure of jetting, never had it open, it works so I haven't mucked around with it.

I used to run 12-50, but changed to 13-50 as I was changing gears as quick as I could move my foot with the 144. I'm tempted to go 13-48 but I'll see how it goes up hills first.

    Pro Circuit pipe.

I might move the bolt in the PV linkage up to the top to try and get some more low end, its currently in the middle.

I just put an Erig Gorr low end 144 on my 125.

It was just as advertized the same top end with more bottom and lower mid. This bike is a trials bike with a seat.

R_Little so how much more power does it feel like? I may end up going this way on my 08 CR125. Thanks, John

I just put another EG 144 on an 09 WR125 with an FMF Fatty pipe and it rips. The Fatty really makes a difference with the 144.

Does it make a noticeable difference on the 125, too?

fmf fatty would be good and cheap on ebay . I think a longer muffler makes bigger difference . Looks hot though and you can store original pipe before it gets dented..

The top is the same, which was always fast.

It used to have 2 speeds....slow and warp!

Now the bottom is not so slow. The biggest advantage is the filled in bottom and mid allows you to ride with a lot less shifting.

Think caught on a slight incline 2 gears too high...now it may not stall right away....a little clutch will keep you going. That was exactly what I was looking for. I did the low compression head mod for pup gas too.

BTW, the 125 piston I took out that had a 1/2 season of racing and who knows how much riding Norman did on it, looked like it had no wear!

The ring end gap was a bit high though.

    Amazing!

BTW, My CR125 has an FBF 135 that just rips! The bottom on that is a little light but the mid rips and the top is INSANE!

Thanks R_Little. I just want a little more down low and as much mid as I can get. I am only on top a few seconds at a time and it pulls pretty well up there as it is. BTW I do have the Fatty and a PC2 on my 08 and it made a pretty good difference. I had to take the 52 rear sprocket back off and go back to stock. It was either that or have an air shifter installed to keep up with the lightning fast shifts required. I am still amazed at how fast a 125 Husky can pull my 200 lbs around; unreal.

Ok. Had a big ride yesterday up at Imbil. Awesome trails for those in the area. To cut to the chase the bike rips.

On the big hills I was able to get up in 3rd generally, 2nd if there was a lot of holes or roots to kill momentum. My mates who were all on 400-525 KTMs were amazed by the little bikes aptitude at hill climbing.

In the tight single track the little Husky is a weapon. We got all competitive and cracked out the stopwatch on a short loop; really tight, rooty and rocky.

A mate of mine with a '10 KTM 400 EXC is an A grade rider, racing enduro for 15 years. His best on his own bike was 49.6, he jumped on my bike with no practice and did a 50.8. He was amazed.

I managed a 53.6 and I have literally been riding motorbikes since March. So easy to throw around in the tight, easy for a novice to get to grips with. Another bloke on a KTM 450 managed a 54.2.

So yeah I'm happy with it.

If factory Husky are going to offer a 150 or 144 kit, would they not need to match the expansion chamber to suit ? In what ways is their kit better than say a EG kit ?

I still run Norman's Dynoport pipe it seems a little longer than the stock 125 pipe. It seems a perfect fit for the 144.
