It's a Wolfman Peak Tailbag, a good piece of gear, details here: http://www.wolfmanluggage.com/Tail/peak_tail_bag.html If you get one & intend carrying anything remotely heavy in it on the rear rack you need to reinforce the rear subframe. Please see the sticky threads for details of what will happen if you don't... Doh!
I got it as part of a ride away price, but the retail price is listed on the invoice as $342.15 as of 21 June 2011. The part no. is 8000H4205 Luggage Tack TE-SMS630 It's been great for my humble needs, i.e. day rides only.
I also looked for something like this for my '08 TE610, but no such luck. I ended up getting a Giant Loop 'Coyote' back. It seemed to be an easy set up, and I knew I didn't need ALL of that space. But I needed something for the LA-Barstow to Las Vegas ride. Big mistake, that GL bag was too freaking huge and I didn't even pack it 1/2 way full. The bad part was when I was riding kinda hard through the whoops section and bottoming out the rear, the right side of the bag was being rubbed by the rear tire. Messed it up 'cosmetically' on the inside . It is a sturdy bag, but for our little 610's/630's, I'd go with the smaller GL's or some rack mount like the one above. Just upset that they don't make one for the 610
Chicken, TCI makes a cargo rack for the 610. A medium rolie bag works great on it, and you can even add a rotopax or kolpin pax for extra fuel, put the bag on top. The GL Mojave would have been much better suited for LAB2V. Here's how I run mine:
Wow, that looks really nice. Rear mount looks great, seat looks after market/clean. Is yours an 08 TE610 too. C'mon man? Just one pic. More pics please of the whole bike. Also, I've been beating up my plastics. Just put on a new front left side fairing the week before LA-B to V and guess what? Did a gravity check to the left side and busted it. Where do you get your plastics? Thanks in advance. Oh yeah, are you northern Cal or SoCal?Rea
Russ - you posted a rack for your TE 630: I got it as part of a ride away price, but the retail price is listed on the invoice as $342.15 as of 21 June 2011. The part no. is 8000H4205 Luggage Tack TE-SMS630. I just purchased a 2013 TE511. Do know where I can look into getting a the same rack?
Sorry man, just saw this. Here are some pics of my 630 http://www.supermotojunkie.com/showthread.php?126989-Pics-of-my-Husky-630!
Good luck with that here is what I've found http://www.touratech-usa.com/Store/PN-410-5450/Luggage-Rack-Husqvarna-TE449-511 this bolts through the plastic tail, seems no good to me. here is the one i'm banking on http://nomadic-racks.com/news this is supposed to have brackets, but is not out yet he said about a week capacity is limited to 10 lbs rough riding though im not sure exactly what that means for street/logging roads?
The 630 rack was included in the Husky 2011 Special Parts Catalogue, in which there was no equivalent for the 511/449. The 630 rack is very similar, if not identical to, the one available from Touratech at the time, so perhaps they may be an option for you. Regards, Russ
I bought the rack at the same time I bought the TE630 new from Trooper Lu's Garage in June 2011. It's a Husky genuine part as included in the 2011 Special Parts Catalogue, part no. 8000H4205 Luggage Rack TE-SMS630, retail price then $342.15. I understand Trooper Lu is handing back their Husky dealership, so don't know whether they could still source the rack. If not, R&D Husky in Penrith may be able to, as they seem to be the only Husky dealer left in Sydney. The rack has been excellent for my needs. I believe this Touratech rack is the same: http://www.touratech-usa.com/Store/1020/Body-Fairing-Accessories-for-Husqvarna-TE-630
Do you mean the attach points or ?? It bolts onto the same plate the grab handles attach to, replaces them.
I see that, but I also see a "U" shaped tubular section going under the tail section...so I just wanted to see a more detail pic of what is going on below and under the handle mounting points.
Camera is not working for shite...new one coming next week. Maybe I can get a pic or two tomorrow. Dirtbagz racks fit on with some mods. What else are you hanging on there? Did you make the plates to reinforce the sub? If not, don't put anything on there.
