I am glad you all made it home safe, and most mostly unharmed. Xymotic, glad to hear your dirt nap did not get the best of you or you 610. I recently put a PMB rack on my 510 with the stock under fender mount. Have thought of beefing it up, but after seeing Xymotic's tire scrubber, maybe I should remove the rack and opt for some Wolfman saddlebags to carry my fuel bottles? I like the phot credits. It helps me with seeing the different riders perspectives on things. Husqvarna!
Found my radio But if anybody finds one, it's still mine. Come to think of it, Mike if you find any money in your truck, or any extra tools or bike parts. those are mine too
Well, we know for a fact that 1.5 Gallons is too heavy. (still to come in report) So what that's like 12#? the tail and PMB rack itself are surprisingly heavy. It cannot handle more than a couple pounds if you are in whoops or washboard IMO.
We're contractually obligated to only say nice things about Mike. That FF rides too fast. That's about the only negative I can think of
Al the pics and commentary are top shelf. I am ofcourse a fan of the current Huskys, but my favorite bike of your trip is JCH4's beautiful white Thumper with that tank and the big blue gunsight. Excellent work JCH4!
We all liked that he carted all that extra gas around for us, "just in case" After I "fixed" the tail of the bike, we were on our way again. Yossarian photo by SepticSkeptic Not a good pic, but the road made a sharp turn, and there was a pretty severe drop-off that almost got a couple of the guys. Septic Skeptic and NorCalSlowPoke both independantly had the idea to stack some rocks to make it a little more visible. The terrain changed a bit, the Cacti got a little taller And a little more forest-like norcalslowpoke Every turn in the road is a new postcard There was a sign that said "San Franciscuito" and Gasolina 500 Meters. So a couple of us detoured to check it out. It was a nice Rancho with ice cream and soda, but it wasn't San Franciscuito!!! We had a couple moments with the local Bovine population. One decided to run into the road in front of Yossarian. These ones were nicer to NorCalSlowPoke But they decided not to stick around for me. How did you take those pano shots? I usually use a tripod but get sick of doing that and of course you can't carry one on a bike. NC
BTW, I have of course heard of Mike's but know nothing about this Coco guy. It looks like he has an informal place out in the desert to stay. Lost his other leg? Man that is tough. He still smiles Greg
He just pans the camera and makes the pano in software. I use photostitch which came with my canon and it sucks. He used Photoshop CS3 which I didn't know did it till he mentioned it, so I def. need to upgrade. If I were taking a longer trip with SLR, I think I'd have to seriously consider a tripod. Carbon fiber ones ain't that bad. But at the very least a good clamp you can attach to the bike or a 'gorrila pod'
That is pretty nice someone made a page for him. I've been thinking about buying a Gorilla pod for a long time now, that would especially be helpful for the smaller cameras (not a heavy slr). Sounds like a good topic for another thread...

I'd never heard of the site before, hence I was curious. Sites are a lot of work! I did notice it took a bit of time for the pics to load, in case that matters to you. You probably saw zero delay because they would be in your cache.
