HOT DAMN THAT IS GORGEOUS !!! I swear, first that stunning KTM and now this costume Husky beauty... This thread is just getting better and better and my underpants are getting tighter....
A great example of how design is subjective or 'how you can't please all of the people, all of the time'! The Nuda 900R has now won two prestigious international design awards but to 7.62 it was disappointing. Having spent a lot of time at exhibitions I'd say that the majority of people are appreciative of the looks of the Nuda, with the main point of controversy being the front mudguard. We'll see how the people respond to the TR650s at the forthcoming Motorcycle Live exhibition in Birmingham but the bike is beginning to sell in all markets so it must appeal to some. Back to the Baja, it again looks better in the flesh than in the photos and there were plenty of people taking photos of it in Milan yesterday. It does for now however remain as a concept with no confirmed production date so people will have a fair while longer yet to make up their own minds about the looks. Personally I prefer it to the MOAB version and think it has a certain retro cool which could see it sell in reasonable numbers depending on price. Dave
General comment. In early 2006 when I was shopping for a bike, the TE250 seemed perfect... Except - the bike was too tall, and I *really* did not like the yellow & blue plastics Dan at MotoXotica informed me that bikes could be lowered and that the 2006 TC red and white plastics could be substituted After finding that out I literately could not buy that bike fast enough. If the Baja Concept, or what ever else they come up with is a simple matter of (relatively) inexpensive plastics to differentiate it from the other TR650 models (try to forget the wheels and other non-plastics differences for the moment), that could be a winner e.g. buy the Baja version, put on Terra plastics or the other way round - depending on personal preferences. Regardless, something like the Baja would get peoples attention. For whatever reason, people seem to like customizing bikes.
I'm calling foul, someone stole my design. Of course mine actually has the official "Cafe Husky Gunsight Mug".
I thought the Moab was pretty cool but this is realy ugly and it is not a dirtbike...and those tires suck on the road, kind of useless
I also thought the Moab was cool but this thing is terrible, so glad I got a 630 before they vanished off showroom floors. With these soft BMW bikes about I suspect well cared for SM and TE 630's will become highly sought after machines in the future.
I give up... I am more of a "I know what I like when I see it in person and ride it type".. and lack the vision some of you have. For instance I can see how incredibly cool photoguys picture is here: http://www.cafehusky.com/threads/husqvarna-concept-baja.28776/page-2#post-258483 But I cannot figure out why the baja concept does not appeal to me in the same way, at least in the photos.
