That BMW is as ugly as a SUZUKI GN250...with a bit more cc's... But that new Husky Moab...ohhh...to me it looks like a sexy party
so this is the nuda with the knobbies we were asking for?? lol im split, it seems to go along with the new car concept(camaro mustang charger etc) on lookin kinda like the older versions
Personally, I'd prefer that Husky not divert all those development $$ and engineering resources to bikes like this and the Nuda and put them into the dirt bike line instead. Focus on what you know and what you're recognized for. They have thousands of riders that have been howling for 2t development for years & this is where they spent the cash instead. Granted, I realize that margins on a street bike are a lot higher than a dirt bike and street bikes are more likely to be sold to deeper pocketed riders. However, the costs to get them approved for any given geographical market are a lot higher and risks are also a lot higher if you misjudge the market......
Husky/BMW is doing a great job pulling on the husky heritage. I had many of the old metal tank bikes and other than the from "number plate" and that silly fender, I kinda like it.
They are working on DI 2stokes like everyone else, they have to. They are coming. These street bikes are good move to me and EZ as it is upgraded BMW models so a big part of the bike (motor) is done. Seems like a good move.
Number plates and muffler need to go. And I would hope the front fender is functional and the weight is sub 350 lbs. I love the retro tank and the rest of the bike.
We can all hope, but there hasn't been anything concrete indicated, only rumours & conjecture so far. IMO(which isn't likely worth much BTW), the resources put toward these could have modernized the 2t lineup 2-3 years ago.....Personally, I feel that BMW should focus on the street/ large ADV stuff and Husky on the off-road/smaller DS. The Nuda could have easily been developed and badged as a BMW............ It reminds me of the model bloat that always eventually plagues car companies, First Detroit and now the Japanese. They try to sell a car to every little niche and eventually end up with a top heavy cost structure. The Japanese motorcycle manufacturers had the same problem in the 80's & eventually were forced to drop numerous model lines. Jus sayin....
Seems like a flat track type machine. I like the uniqueness of it. Great to see Husky / BMW developing new ideas and machinery in this current global financial crisis. edit ~ I should have watched the video PRIOR to posting lol Still I like, except for the front fender/ number plate thingys.
I hear ya. I have an '06 SV Standard and have never liked the ergos of it. I want something with a more upright riding position, like a SM. Or a Moab...
The off road market is tiny in comparison to the street market. For Husqvarna to succeed the brand needs to grow and it makes commercial sense to aim for growth in the market with the biggest potential return. The BMW backing enables rapid development of a street range which can bring much needed sales volume. Off road remains core to the brand but development has to be paid for... Dave
I would take you for a sister in a heartbeat my dear Ol' G.O.A.T ! Hey...say baby sista girl, you got ten dollars I can borrow?
