Its really close to the shock and just clears so I will give them a jingle to Thursday. May or may not have to do anything. The throttle cable is spot on with enough room to add a bar riser.

I looked at a '16 TC125 today.... I was a little depressed to see that this wasn't machined to accept a starter motor. :banghead:

That is what I was worried about was shock clearance. I should have mine by Friday. We can compare notes.

Norman, I think that it should be doable to machine the cases retro if they produce a starter ring gear and preferably a 2017 TE150 with e-start. I know lots of riders don't understand the obsession with e-start on a small bore but believe me there will be a happy audience. Also it will need to be there to spool the motor successfully once there is FI or DI.

I thought it was as the Husky add said it was prepped for e-start, so your no closer than I am.

For me it's going to take some major developments like FI and DI and possibly E start to go for a new bike. My WR250 with 50mm OC Zokes is an excellent woods weapon and my YZ125 is the same as the 2015 which just won the tiddler shootouts in the magazines. I'm looking forward to see which company emerges with the best next generation combo. The 4 strokes have been steadily improving and are pretty amazing considering the ground they had to make up which was only made possible by the lack of 2 stroke development. My dream bike is still a 150-175cc DI 2 stroke that weighs 200 lbs and I don't really care who makes it but Husky would be my first choice if I had one and Yamaha second.

I can't wait for your dyno numbers!!

I agree with you 100%. Nothing worse than racing and having guys couple seconds apart.
Then all three of you go down and your kicking a flooded bike, while the other two hit their e start button and take off.
Even kicking a 125 when your exhausted is a chore. Unless you have a muddy boot, can lift it and let gravity just fall on the kicker!

left.png The package says these fit yours as well. I started with Enduro Engineering and was really disappointed with the fit.

Ok now somebody post something that I can use. You really should not let a KTM show what the Husky parts look like LOL.

I also wouldn't ride the new missiles without proper protection. The rads connection to the inlet hoses that are in the frame looks like a vulnerable area if subjected to my kind of tree contact. Definitely need at least a good set of braces. I look forward to what you find in place of the EE product. Also the cases are very thin to save weight. Husky/Ktm have gone to great lengths to save weight with this motor and for the off-road guys adequate protection is going to be paramount. I have a P-3 Skid plate on order but it has been 4 weeks and no plate. It seems like I have been here before.

Norman, the spigot is a case drain and I would expect that I am going to run a tube going back along the frame that would be less likely to plug. It is kind of exposed to the crap where it is at. If I could get a ring gear, setting up an e-start would be a cinch with the existing cases. I might have to look at procuring one myself if Husky isn't going to step up. Starter motor/solenoid should be fairly easy to source.

More later. Life, work, and health is kind of going crazy right now but hoping to get the first dyno run next week.

I'm a little bummed about the EE rad braces. I've used them for the last 3 bikes and prefer the option to run the stock louvers for better cooling. The louvers on the '16 are quite rigid and bolt into place, as opposed to the old pop in style. DTX915 can you describe what was lacking in the fit?

I would rather the stock guards just bolted in I use to zip ty them on.....

I run unabiker guards on everything because they are tough as hell from any angle and then I run panty hose over the top to keep the trail thrash out of the raidator....

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but panty hose have gone the way of VHS, 35mm film canisters, and CRTs.

They tip forward once tightened, this didn't let me put the lower hose back on. The top never fit. If I removed the louver and pulled them back I can get a little of the lower hose on. The top never went on.
These guards sit on the post that is tipped forward unlike others that pass over it and sit flush. IMO it makes them to wide. Yes I can bend them backwards and did and replace the lower hose as its still too short. But that top formed hose isn't gonna get wide enough.

    Reality check....
I'm trying to not buy the '16 TC125. Extra cost to make it Enduro spec are keeping me in check.... Aftermarket kickstand, big tank, stator and light kit, skid plate and not even including an 18" rear wheel is $1000. Then I have to buy a 150 kit. If they have an estart TE150 in '17.... I'll shoot myself!

May not be able to put a stator with a lighting coil on this bike, unless you rewind the OEM one. It is a different part number than any of the previous KTM 2T units, so it's very possible you can't swap a TE125 or EXC125 unit on.

Trail Tech only has stator for 250/300 2T estart bikes.

Nutty Norman at it again..... Back on the TC125 trail!

I pulled out the '12 Husaberg TE250 yesterday, to clean it up and do some maintenance. I hadn't ridden it since last October. It's a great bike... gobs of power, effortless clutchless wheelies, estart, but it just seems so big to me now. Too good a bike, to be relegated to just trail work. A little Honda 4T would be better. I need to sell or trade it, as I'm not a 250/300 guy.

The '16 TC125 is making more sense to me now.... I can run it as a 125 for awhile, using it for more open terrain riding and racing. A skid plate and kickstand will be all I need for starters. I have the '15 TE150 for more technical riding and when I need lights and plate for traditional enduros.

If Husky comes out with a TE150 estart, I can replace the '15 TE150 with one, when the time is right.

Ktm/Husqvarna has really made every effort to eliminate weight with the new 125 motor. No stator plate with both the lugs and signal igniter mounted directly to the center case. The flywheel itself is very close to the old Husky 125 CR ignition. Italian Husky on the right, TC125 on the left. They have different center flanges for seating on the crank end. The TC125 uses 4 of the 6 lugs for the igniter circuit. Would make re-wiring for lights difficult.

You can see how much they have thinned out the outside cases to save weight.

The starter kit is going to have to include a different ignition and ignition cover. Both to allow for a ring gear and lighting coils.

Overall it is still impressive what they have done to make this a cutting edge bike.
