So with KTM doing the 17 150XCW with the larger tank that should swap to the Husky or dose the body work have different location points, I have never had the two bikes side by side. The guy who did my suspension is getting a 17 125 to build up. He also handed me a new Cylinder Head Combustion Chamber he had made for the 125's to pump up the compression and will do the 150 next. Guess who told him I want the first one. Said he was going to put a package together with his Turbo Ring for the woods guys.

There is going to be a TE150, so tank swap will be simple...

For '17 the TE will be new frame and motor. It will only be available as the 150.

The US models are not on the website yet, but media has had a press release. US press intro is next month. Europe and most other markets are getting the TX125. It is an enduro model, but not street legal from the factory. It can be made street legal by the local importer or individual owner in most markets.

So I swapped on the Smart Carb I have to see how the 150 really ran. The Smart Carb in my experience makes more upper mid to top power than any carb out there. Yes, I said any carb. If it just worked so well on the bottom and early mid at the same time. I have ridden the bike with the stock PWK and it has this wonderful, linear, feel feeding into a ripping top end. The Smart Carb adds at least 15% to that. It is really a ff'ing rocket. Unbelievable. Unfortunately the Smart Carb cast version just doesn't work well both on the top and the bottom at the same time on the small bores. Just my frustrating experience after trying many different rods. This is why I love the Lectron. It is so easy to set and works everywhere at every throttle opening, once set, forget.

Tomorrow I am installing the Lectron which as I said is my favorite application for any bike riding huge elevation changes. I will be riding in the evening on a very technical, severe mountain climb. 6500' gained in 6 miles. Can't wait to report back on the miles of smiles this wonderful little bike gives me.

Would love to see comparison on the dyno - Pwk vs Lectron  ( then put a 39mm modded Mikuni haha )

The shop that was letting me use their dyno got really busy and it was hard to find time when it was available and I was too. Put off further dyno work. I was supposed to ride this evening but after getting my butt kicked by an extendable motorized pole saw for 6 hours, I am not very mobile right now. Maybe tomorrow.

I can say that the Lectron and Smart Carb are both very tight squeezes getting to fit. Very slight boot rub on the shock. Not enough to worry about I think.

The lectron only rubbed with the rear wheel off the ground, once the bike was on the floor the gap opened and became wider as the suspension was compressed. I sent David a picture about this.
After 1/2 a season of racing this has not been a problem. I was worried about a mud run but so far not even a mark on the boot.

Lectron instantly transformed the power band back to what I want. Very linear, very good bottom/mid building consistently to a ripping top. Much more rideable than the Smart Carb. Smart Carb was just so ballistic. Couldn't keep the front end on the ground in any gear. No adjustments other than the carb change. No power valve adjustments. I will do some tinkering later this month after I get a few rides. Lectron versus the stock PWK is pretty dynamic as the Lectron is just so smooth and responsive versus the stock carb. This is the same comparison as I have made often in the past.

Have I raved yet about the handling and character of the new TC150. What an awesome little rocket. So light and flickable, yet very planted in the chop, rocks, and gnarl. Has yet to put a foot badly for me. It just seems so intuitive to ride. I never find myself thinking about what I need to do. The bike just seems to sense the slightest rider input and track exactly where I have been looking ahead. I can't stress enough how well the bike handles and runs given that I am sporting a not so sporting 240#'s for this ride(pack 15#'s, saw, every conceivable body protection and 40% body fat). More later.
