Hey Rexr, way to go. I made that jump earlier this spring after looking really hard at the BMW 450X, KTM, Aprillia, GasGas and just about every other bike between 400 and 650. I was coming off a DRZ 400 with over 22,000 kms of mostly off road on it. I agree with some of these guys when they mention "rocket". I weighed both bikes 2 minutes apart on the same scale. My DRZ was 326 and my TE510 was 274. 52 lbs lighter both with similar fuel levels. Holy crap... add to the mix almost double the HP and a rocket she is. I traded bikes with a buddy a while back (getting on his DRZ 400) and it felt like an old station wagon compared to a race car. Lacked brakes, handling and power... and to think I loved that ole bike of mine for years. Anyway, you will LOVE your new bike. Pete SS

Thanks guys. I am loving the bike. I have about 450 miles on her so far. Unfortunately I am healing a slipped disc in my lower back so I have not had a chance to ride any really challenging off road stuff yet. As soon as I have around 750 miles on her I am going to take her down to George for a Uptite Tune..

Here are a couple of the latest pics..

    Nice bike.

I do wish the IMS tank would allow for tank shrouds. These beautiful Huskies just don't look the same without them.

Yeah.. I am torn. I get a lot of compliments on how clean it looks with the white tank but I hate that it gets and stays so dirty..

What steering damper is that - with the IMS tank?

    How do you like it?

yep as kelly said, 450 feels totally different and doesnt have the grunt of the 510 ! but does feela tad lighter and i have 14/48 on mine and will lift the front quite easily in every gear ! :D

only complaint is the drink problem ! :p

those square indicators are horrid on the new bikes, then older round ones are much nicer..just my opinion !

It is a GPR. I like it alot. I have had Scotts before too but GPR is local here in SoCal and they provide EXCELLENT customer support so I chose them over the Scotts. It fits with the IMS Tank but it is TIGHT. I have to say that I am extremely disappointed in the fit and finish of the IMS tank but since that is the only option we have that is what I went with.

Agreed - it would certainly be great if the shrouds would just bolt on, but with a bit of ingenuity (and being willing to cut them up a little) you can make them fit and find a way to keep them in place. I ended up doing that after the decals I originally applied directly to my IMS tank just bubbled up and peeled off. Only took a couple of hours to fit the shrouds so I could stick the decals on those instead.

Course, if Husky themselves produced a larger tank either as standard or an option I guess this wouldn't be a problem...
