Any news on testing exhaust combinations last weekend?

as it is clear that a bigger displacemend needs a bigger exhaust to get a optimal performance.

there are now these days special developed 144 cc exhausts, would that not be a better ticket than a 200 cc exhaust as the eventual displacement difference is smaller between the 165cc and the 144 cc then the 165cc and 200 cc?

Tim Troffer tried his kit witht he Doma and said it ran great. Will be testing the FMF soon but snow is falling making testing chalenging right now.

Did get out for a ride before the snow with good buddy and 2 time (in a row) enduro time keeper A class champ Scott. He does not like trading off much as he likes his bikes set up. He sampled the WB165 for quite some time and appeared to LOVE it. Will let him chime in so you have it first person. He did say he loved the power and bike.

Where do we get the Doma? What is scott's normal ride? Look forward to his ride report and the FMF testing if the weather works out for you. Thanks Kelly for your test work.

Scott rides a 08 TXC450, YZ250 and YZF450. He is a Yami dude i got on husky a few years ago and still likes the brand. Seemed to love the 165

Scott can ride any bike faster than I could imagine riding. I'm sure he could pimp me on a TTR125 in the woods if he wanted..

As you know he took 5th overall on a KX100 in a large enduro race for the fun of it. Scott is the man. He says we are the same speed and then smokes me all the time. Bastid.

Snow? When has that stopped you? Any plans for dyno testing to show the difference between the pipes?

it usually doesn't but we are redoing our living room so that and the snow makes me think I should stay home and get some work done. Might happen, might not. :D

Just an FYI for everyone in regards to the pipe. I recently bought a used FMF Gnarly from a '06 KTM 200. The pipe is a bit twisted but no dents. I only paid $25 for it so I figured it would be a great candidate for retrofitting. I cut the spigot off of my OEM WR pipe which as demolished anyway and with a bit of grinding it slides right inside of the KTM pipe spigot. I held it onto the bike and once it was at the proper angle I tack welded it in place. I just finished completely welding it in place and grinding it down. The same goes as far as that the OEM WR stinger slides into the KTM's. I just need to extend it some. I will get pictures up if anyone is interested. I AM NOT master welder and just enjoy tinkering so if I do post pics dont laugh too hard!

    Matt,

Be careful when you first ride the 165 with that pipe. It will want to spit you off the back right off idle if you are on anything other than slick mud. Really comes on hard. I think you will be surprised. :D The gnarly will cost you some top end though.

Here are some pics of the 200 sx fatty pipe before and after refit. This pipe is done for an 08 CR125 so some of the brackets are a little different for the new 125's.

Here is a pic of the 200 pipe after I first mounted it up on my 165:

I have rotated the last couple counter clockwise as you look at this picture which raises the front a little and clears the shock reservoir on the back. I am sure we will have more pipe news as we go forward.

Don't look too close at the welding. I suck when it comes to welding thin stuff with a nickel coating. With the mig machine you have to weld in steps trying to keep the area less than blow out hot. Not my forte'.

    Walt,
Thats what I am counting on! :D I plan to tune it to my liking with your power valve spring kit. I also bought a G2 400 throttle cam to tame the bottom power a bit more. Taking some top end is fine with me. I tend to ride in the lower end of the power or a gear high. Drew Smith always tells me that if the wheel is spinning then Im not moving forward. TRACTION TRACTION TRACTION! I just finishing welding it up and relocatin the brackets. Hell if it works to my liking the only bad part is if I taco the damn thing. If I dont like it then it cost me a couple hours work and 25 bucks. I cant wait for the 165 kit to arrive on my door step! Does it come gift wrapped with a bow on it? Cuz its going to feel like Xmas!

ajaxauto I look forward to reading what you think of WB165. Has anybody ran a pipe that was made for a Husky on their WB165? I can do the welding needed to fab a KTM pipe but getting it replated may be a problem.
