125-200cc I Rode The Prototype Wr200 And It Is Amazing...

My WB165 kit showed up yesterday and I installed it last night along with my RB Designs modified carb. I only got to run it for 1 heat cycle in the garage but it certainly sounds like it means business. Hoping to get it out this weekend for a break-in ride. I don't think I've been this excited to go ride since I first brought the 125 home.

And as a side note, Walt went above and beyond to supply a quality product. If you're ever in Seattle Walt, I owe you a beer.

Ok guys my MIG trigger finger is itching so how's the WB165 / 200 pipe coming along?

We are expecting word from FMF on Monday. They want an order for a minimum of 25 pipes to make the run. That isn't a deal breaker at all just waiting for them to sell us the parts. I will let everyone know the details as soon as I have them...price, time frame, etc.

just curious, how many WB 165 are already running or in confirmed production?

what would most effectively the outcome when a 144 dedicated pipe is put on this Kit?


would it result in lesser bottom but still have the over rev?
or is it more bottom and say goodbye to the over rev?

I am going to Europe in 2 weeks and I do have the choice of buying and hand carrying a HGS or a Doma made for the 144 capacity
everything for a KTM 200 is hard to find in Europe as it is not the capacity of choice for a big amount of people (so no second hands available to mod and try out)

sending a pipe from America would not be cheap either as the size and shape is a bit awkward so transportation goes through the roof to Asia.

so would i a Europe 144pipe an acceptable compromise?

I do my riding mainly in the mid high revs but the decision for the kit is made to improve the bottom range

Thanks Walt I know you'll let us know. I'm like a kid at Christmas waiting to open the rest of the gifts and I'm waiting challenged . So how much difference do the pipes make as in 125 vs 144 vs 200 on the WB165?

Riding mine with the FMF Fatty for the Husky 125 today. It just isn't the same and I don't think it rev's farther either. It still pulls hard but not the same. It is like if you are a gear high in a corner with the 200 fatty and nail the throttle it will still pull hard and explode out of the other end. With the 125 pipe it is more important to be close to the right gear.

In your situation it probably makes sense to get the Doma 144 pipe made for the Husky. It will probably be the closest thing to the 200 fatty pipe. Doma did make a pipe for the KTM 200 and my buddy scored one. Probably have it mounted on his 165 in the next month or so. It looks good.

I love my big bore with pipe more every time I ride it. Gearing is perfect with 14 / 52 gearing for woods racing.

Not a good run for me...7th out of 29 but I had not been riding in a long time.

Crashed hard at CF Yesterday....DNF'ed oh well at least I won't race for points this year...promised my wife I would not.

I safety wired the bolt to the line. .....so they must move together...and won't cause the line will only go so far.

Crashing sucks. It seems to be the one thing I am good at! Are you going to the MCI HS on April 15? I havnt figured out if I am going for points or not. If the rest of my season is like the first race then I wont fair to well. I just finished buttoning up the WB165 top end again. I hope to get a couple heat cycles in today so I can ride tomorrow. I cant wait for the FMF pipes to be available! Thanks for the info on the safety wire. I will do that before I ride the bike.

Hi! You can say that the piston is used for the kit 165cc? I saw that you are using a Mahle piston measuring 61.94 or Wössner if I'm wrong .... You can write the exact code of these pistons? I would order a piston for realise this kit, but in Italy I can not find the pattern !

I rode the Curly Fern Enduro, on the WR/WB165 this weekend. The bike was terrific in all sorts of typical South Jersey conditions, with lots of power for those "sugar sand" woods roads. If you want it snappy..... shift down; if you want it mellow shift up. This is the bike I always wanted. After riding it for a while though.... I can see now that a little longer kicker, would be nice to light it up a little quicker.

Still waiting on my phone call from P3's Eric to let me know the pipe guards are ready. He said he would call. I would like one before the next national enduro.

Lindsay repaired and brought my P3 tank back to me at Curly Fern. He said pipe guards were ready, so you should get a call soon.

Like I have said I live close to the new Husky office in Corona Calif. I have offered to install a kit on one of husky demo bikes for Husky to test.I have offered my bike for a test ride I have called and emailed
Husky and have received a responce back showing a intrest.I have emiled Dirt Rider telling them of the kit
Plus have a deal in the works to receive 25 pipes from FMF which I will then pick up and ship to Walt
This is Walts DREAM BIKE but we are all helping I will race the 165 at the next National
What else can we do

Ajaxauto put the WB165 on top of the podium and when they ask you about the sponsors and what bike you are running tell them the one Husky should have built but is no longer needed to thanks to a guy in Montana and his Husky crew ! Don't forget to mention the other fine sponsors such as Motorsportz, FMF, etc.
