I have read about this option too, but it feels a bit like guys who have automatic cars that do the manual conversion...sometimes it's cheaper and easier to sell the one you have and buy the one you want. Our motors are supposed to be nice and relatively "tame" street motors unlike the 450's or 510's, how long do you suppose you'll go before rebuilding?
A while, I'm sure, I'm around 8000 miles right now. I've rebuilt plenty of bike motors before, and the parts are only a couple hundred bucks to swap 5th and 6th, so it's not really that big of a deal once the case is already split.
