This is what I was talking about but didn't explain well, if at all (Ty justintendo). The longer silencer will cut the top end, therefore making the low and mid seem stronger and consistent. However, a shorter silencer will actually produce more power everywhere due to the decreased back pressure and wave form propagation in the expansion chamber. If you look at either of our race bikes, you will see very short silencers. These are custom made for us from Procircuit to develop the highest hp throughout the powerband.

You all lost me on the technical stuff but I think we can all agree it's cool if Jarvis runs it :). Hell that guy is reason about 99% of TE300's are sold :)

Got to love my boys at FMF I called up and asked about the new longer turbin core spark arrester silencer I said do you have one for my OLD Italian Zip Ty Racing CR 300 Well look what I got last night. You can see the difference between the original FMF Silencer and the new one Now stay tune for a test

I like how you wrote the date of death for the other muffler on it. :) that FMF is huge.

I wrote the date on it because I just cleaned it rewelded the tabs and installed new packing, it is ready to go. The date is so I cam remember when I serviced it. I will race with the short one this weekend as I have no time to test the big one. Then next weekend will compare both of them in different types of stuff and do some high speed and slow stuff

Wow, look how long that is, definitely improve your wheelies. They should name it the FMF HPK (horsepowerkiller).

Dalton passed the forestry sound check last weekend at Gorman which is 96db max.

Hey, I'm not against experimentation one bit. But when you're done fooling around with your torpedo silencer, bring me your cracked subframe so I can weld it.

^his sag numbers must be way out! thats the q-stealth hey ajax? i bought one coupla years ago, crashed a few times & bent the subframe silencer mounts(too much leverage, too weak mounts). chopped mine off just in front of the rear mount, binned the SA & now have a shorty! BTW i got another under warranty as the seam near the front mount cracked/split both sides of the mount-like 2" straight line 'split'!

My buddy has that same silencer on his WR300 , he has had to weld his sub frame muffler hangers up twice since he installed it. No problems in 5 years with the stock one. I think it stresses an already suspect subframe.

they dont build em like they used to. maybe they should just add 2 lbs to the bike and make subframes strong??

Unfortunately people would look at the spec sheets and not buy it because it is 2 pounds heavier. Careful what you ask for. We get semi frigile bikes because we yell about weight. We also get bikes missing cool stuff the older bikes had like axle pull handles, Zerks, re enforced subframes, skid plates, and lots of other cool extras.

youre preaching to the choir kelly! im content having all that stuff. easy to remove it all as well. heck, all my bikes have the stuff you mentioned. lol, funny you talk about axle pull handles. i didnt know they quit putting those on bikes! i was wondering where those were at when i look at newer bikes. i would weld them on, i can tell you that.

Its too bad the manufacturers cant claim a "naked" weight and then put all that stuff back on. Cma.

Looks like the long silencer worked for MXA's TC300

As well as my brothers 250SX with a 300 kit
More overrev with the stock silencer compared to the PC shorty

So which silencer would be best all around? The stealth Q?
