The basic Idle Actuator is the same on all the year models of the 650GS/X, what varies is the brass knob at the end hence different part numbers, the actuator itself unscrews completely from the motor body so the existing part can be screwed onto a new motor The Terra part number is the same as F650GS/M, G650GS, G650X Post up the problem you are having into a separate thread rather than clogging up this thread or ask over at Advrider with the G650X guys they may be able to assist you work out whether the problem is the Actuator before spending money
Is this not the thread for discussing parts interchangeability? Thanks for the info - I could not seem to find it on the other thread. Maybe it should be posted there by someone who can do that.
What coolant, antifreeze is used in the Terra/Strada? I need to top mine off a bit. BTW, I really enjoy my Strada.
It will be the normal euro/BMW coolant. They had a different supplier in the US to the ROTW The US 650GS guys did a bit of digging and we put a pdf together, it is on the page below http://www.f650gs.crossroadz.com.au/WPumpRepair.html
According to A&S Cycles part search, the clutch cable for a G650 Sertao is BMW part# 3273 7728597. It will not fit my 2013 TR650 Terra. I know this because I have one laying on my living room floor next to the broken one from my Terra. The BMW one is about 4 inches shorter. A&S Cycles lists the part number for the 2009-10 G650 GS as 3273 7661757, I wonder if that would fit?
There are 3 BMW part numbers for clutch cables on the 650 models, dont know if it will help you but have a pdf with measurements from the BMW fiche which may help you work it out, the pdf is on the page below, we only know measurements of the early models and the G650X http://www.f650gs.crossroadz.com.au/ClutchRepair.html
My friend, also has a Terra, went to California for his Daughters wedding, so I ordered two Husqvarna OEM Cables from Halls Cycles and he will bring them back with him on Saturday.
Working on a Terra yesterday I noted the SPAL radiator fan part number, it is the one we identified as being used on the Sertao, we found the spec for it at SPAL when we were looking into it back then, the part number and link to the spec is below The spec pdf for the SPAL VA31-A101-46A is http://www.spalautomotive.com/eng/pr...=VA31-A101-46A EDIT, ignore to part No above we were confused between VA31, VA37 & VA39 fans The Sertao has a 140cm SPAL fan, the TR650 has a 130cm SPAL fan - SPAL VA37-A101/HD/I 46A 12v
Revision 4 of the BMW-Terra parts interchange is on line, there is a large proportion of parts now identified as common compared to the initial list
Hi family, When I bought the Terra, i knew i was buying an "orphan" bike, Husqvarna under the KTM shell is no longer offering spares for the tr650 in my country (Ecuador). At the same time, I love this bike! It's amazing and I'd like to keep it!! Due to traffic and my life-style, I use my red-black to commute and parking it on the street is not always safe. Friday a f...burgler stole mirrors, the side decalls (terra 650) and probably he wanted to put on his back-pack the rear luggage rack (so some cap screews of it are missing), and since the begging, the coolant deposit cap. Please suggest a dealer in Miami or other city in the US By the way, I need to connect it to maintanance schedule (the wrench-tool has appeared on the display) and I also need a pair of spare air filters and replace a rear fender. I'd appreciate the info!
Howdy, going to do my first valve adjustment at the KTM/ Husky dealer. I checked them once at 7K mi and was within spec so back together it went with the original gasket. A couple thousand miles more and I feel it's got to be due and I don't feel comfortable re-using the gasket a second time. The dealer apparently can't get a valve cover gasket as there are none available from Husky/KTM. I haven't tried the above webshop but I was wondering if anyone knew if the BMW G650 valve cover gasket would work for the TR650 motor?
Dont know if the valve cover gasket will fit but suspect it will What I did notice when doing the BMW to Terra part number conversion spreadsheet was that many parts which could be "local purchase" by Husky like bolts, seals etc had different part numbers so it is likely many more parts are actually the same as the G650X/G650GS BMs, it will be down to taking an old part into a BMW spares dept and trying to match it physically. Where the BM Dealer does not hold stock of course will be a problem but the Service Dept Techs may well recognize where parts are the same
Yes, the gasket is the same as the BMW G650GS Husky part number 7700196 BMW Part number 11 12 7700196
I'm not a mechanic by a long shot and I haven't reviewed the conversion spreadsheet recently but I have recently started working at a BMW dealer and have access to mechanics, diagrams for both bikes, etc and can try to be a resource for the group. Feel free to reach out to me if you or anyone else have compatibility questions.
