The gas never boiled where I could hear it in the stock tank. The larger tank for sure gets hotter.

Mine was percolating pretty good in CO a few years ago. Slow speed climbing and little wind combined will do it. Not much clearance above the engine on this bike especially left side. Thought about doing the insulation but never did. Limited clearance may not necessarily improve if it limits airflow more.

I have had that issue with boiling gas..might have to look into insilation.
On the stock can you can seperate the pipe from the can and itll be a perferated tube inside. Inside the tube is another piece of perferated metal. use a pipe or whatever to knock it out and you will have a free flowing exhaust. You may need to get your map on the ecu adjusted. I had mine changed to map 3 i believe...that was a few yrs ago after my dealer stopped supporting these bikes for the most part.

Got the insulation done. Its very thin so clearance is not an issue. Decided to give the tank a carbon fiber look also
When I get done It will be easy to test, 102 here today insulated tank.jpg carbon tank.jpg

After a couple rides the carbon look had a major fail.

After several rides in all conditions the gas has not boiled. The insulation is working very good. IMG_0779.jpg

It was very easy to stick on. In some places I doubled up. Was expensive (100) but worth it. Kit came with a nice size sheet of insulation and a tape like roll of insulation

Anyone want to purchase this TE310R from me? Starter went out - and with COVID layoffs, divorce + moving, it's time for someone else to enjoy.

Sad to see that you need to leave the Husky communion. Ive had three of these bikes from new 11, 14, 14. Still own one of the 14th as my spare bike. The starter issue is for sure a valve job. Doesnt cost more than a new shim and is an easy fix. A little tricky the first time as you need to modify the blade feeler gauge. Except for that it just takes 2-3 hours the first time. After that if needed aprox 30 minutes. All my bikes has had starter issues. The 2011 the oposit though. The shim for the decomp valve was too tight so it wouldnt start when hot. The 14th had your problem. Except for that the best bike Ive ever had. I have owned almost everythin (today a 19 GasGas ec250). A great bike but I cant say its better, just different because of the 2 stroke. Suspension, balance and brakes pretty much equal.

Had to replace the fuel pump and filter, getting the right aftermarket parts was an issue but possible. Did the heat shield while the tank was off too. PXL_20210930_182222076.jpg

all my 4 stroke tanks were done with CV4 stick on insulation sheeting . My 2008 TXC450 was done (that was my first with tank insulation) but never had issues before doing it. My 2011 TE310 race boiled fuel 1 time on a trail in Mexico , I had to pull the tank and bleed the vapor lock in the fuel lines, and once was enough. Lined my 2011 TE310. 2013 TXC310R and now my 1999 TE610 as well. also I put insulated tubing wrap on the fuel lines.

Anyone looking for a TE310R? I'm needing to get some things sold, and this has sat for a while now. I've put alot into her, but I don't have the time or resources to resurrect this beast. She was fun for a few rides, but I can't keep staring at it in my garage.

    Thoughts?
