I might have to pay a little closer attention to this racing next yr, with the USA cracking a 102 yr old egg and all ... Using that Husqvarna as the egg-cracking weapon, well that must have been sent by the age old EnduroGods ... -- Sounds a little sketchy here...I guess 2 maybe 3 sides to this ... Australia had led all three major categories going into the final stage of the competition following disqualification of eight key riders on Day Three. However the FIM’s International Disciplinary Court ‘provisionally’ reinstated them on Friday, and this changed the face of the final results. Three French riders that were affected by the disqualification were back on the time sheets and France won out over Australia by just a shade over one minute.
The Aussies raced day 3, 4 and 5 with about a 15 minute lead... why would they push when they're not try to catch anyone... The French were fastest on day 3, 4 and 5 with three disqualified riders. When they're all reinstated and back on the clock in day 6, the Aussies were one minute faster than the French on final day.
Sounds a little funky... almost like a green-white-checkered finish one sports organization(USA) uses way too often ...
so who won? mens, womens & juniors? pretty stupid. as boogie says why would you push with such a gap? be more inclined to nurse the bike through to the end! FIM-make a decision & stick with it!!!
haha just watched video-what a f%#cking disgrace! sort ya shit out FIM I woulda walked off too! dunno if it was a deliberate ploy by our boys to stand on top step(judging by looks on faces maybe/maybe not?) of dais but if it wasn't a tad embarrassing for both riders & FIM! regardless, well done Aussie guys & gals & all finishers for that matter
Why would you push when you know these DQ'd guys were all "encouraged" to carry on.... So you know that these penalties were most likely going to be overturned.... specially when the DQ's were really kinda chicken crap.... they were on markings just the previous days markings.... they missed a turn at a spot where the course was no longer just the previous but backwards.... there shouldve been someone there making sure... look at the guys who missed that turn it was not Rookies or people who tend to "stretch" the rules, its solid riders..... I personally am glad it was overturned no way ISDE should come down to a silly penalty settling it....
Oz boys unfortunately get a taste, of what made the USA, so bitter for years.... Day 5 in Slovakia (it was still Czechoslovakia in '82). World Trophy Team victory snatched away, in the Jury Room.
I agree with Norm but nothing can take away the brilliant riding done by the Australian Trophy Team. Hats off to the guys from down under!
The jury is still out on the final senior world trophy result... The 8 riders that went the wrong way ... and missed a time control point ... should get a time penalty at the very least.
the jury is not still out its OVER.... it was on a transfer section already.... get over it.... France won.... Australia rode great and should have kept up the great riding they were doing up to that point.... they ALL KNEW the riders appealed and were most likely going to win
The jury IS still out and the results are NOT official yet. FACT. Although, I can't see anything changing.
get your facts right raceMX Its a provisional decision I was bit disappointed with Matt Phillips on day 4 and 5 though - he dropped nearly 2 minutes to Milner on each day . He could also have been pacing himself but I don't think he was fit enough - I don't think he has been racing enough lately - He only races in the EWC Bring it on next year .. With Price back in the team , Sanders in the senior team and Matt on better form they will kick serious ass - including the Yanks ....
I'd rather be a loser than in such denial.... its over and everyones gone home.... you act like you guys rode and lost.... geeez Ya you guys will be great next year and france will have nambotin and meo back....
Racemx must hate seeing Aussie domination. :P The final time difference between France and Australia was too small to call it a fair win for France. Would be OK if they were 10 minutes ahead but only one minute... Many riders got penalized for being early/late to check points but the 8 disqualified/reinstated riders have not received any penalty as yet. Maybe they won't and it is what it is, but it has not been finalized yet.
Jury's decision to exclude the 8 riders has been stayed, not reversed. At a future date the FIM Court will make a ruling on the actual Jury decision and it will be upheld or overturned. Australia may be 2015 World Trophy Champions, before the lawyers are done.....
