You should be able to tune out the rough spot with the JD tuner, it may take some riding and trying different settings, but you should be able to improve it.

Yep, feel free to play with it. They are all lean so go richer. You can;t really hurt the bike playing around with it and thats the beauty of it.

I'm anxious to get my bike out of the garage and monkey with it. It's currently sitting there, hooked up to a battery tender. :(

I have the pre-filter kit to open up the airbox, and lots of notes of things to try with my JD tuner.

I have a 2011 te 250. When I bought it the dealer modified it to reverse all the street legal restrictors to get more power out of the bike. He also said that they made a modification to the fuel map to adjust for these mods. What is the difference between what they did and what the JD tuner is for. Do you think I will see some performance improvements if I install one?

What your dealer did was tweak it using iBeat. The JD tuner brings two things to the table:

    1. more detailed control over your fueling
    2. the ability to adjust your fueling any time, any where, with nothing but some fat fingers (no PC required)
Nearly everyone here reports great success with the JD tuner over iBeat tuning. That aside, it's almost worth it for the convenience factor alone.

So I got off the phone with JD and asked this, they said no, it doesn't matter since it sits between the ecu and the throttle body, it just makes it's adjustments at the end of the line.

And so, I finally got around to installing this bad boy! I so want to take it out for a burn but I can't since I've got a busted foot...only reason I found time to actually get it installed. :banghead:

    Can't wait though...

Well I couldn't wait any longer, put on a very stiff boot and and took er for a rip. Well...I think that was some very well spent money! Much more than I had expected actually and the only adjustment I made from pre-sets were 1 point up on the top end, very noticeable difference! Still a few things to iron out for sure but I'm shocked at the performance before and after install.

So I ordered and paid for a JD tuner for my 511 on Tuesday from Motosportz after reading this thread and others. I have sent multiple emails to Motosportz to confirm that they got my payment and the tuner is hopefully on its way and have not received any response. I called the number listed on the website and it is just a full voice mail account that just hangs up on me. The rest of the people on this thread seemed very pleased with the quick turn around they got when they ordered a tuner for their bike. Does anyone know what's up?

Took m 630 in for its first real service as we´ve now got a BMW/Husky place here in Berlin. First rate (and expensive) and professional job. But when I got it back, I realised that the JDtuner would have to be re-programmed (mid-range). It was stuttery and tried to die when the throttle was reduced to idle.

    PS
Have taken a look at the settings and believe that the lads have been playing around with the new toy as I never set it like that!

Hello, I bought the Jd tuner for my SMS 630.. its already waiting for me at my parents house in chicago, the thing is, I live in Mexico and I'm not really sure about the settings since Mexic city is very high, about 2800 meters over sea level, that about 9186.3 feet above sea level.

So, there is less oxygen in the air here... not sure If I should go leaner or richer, does anyone have any idea about this or have a similar situation?

thanks in advance for any help.

they usully run just fine as sent and you can adjust it to your liking from there. EZ to run each one up and down the settings and feel what it does. Us the guide included and you should be good to go.

Hi Kelly reading all the rave reviews i am thinking of getting a kit for my 2010 450te and giving my FI another chance, but apart from plugging it in according to the manual provided, theres no need for hooking it up to a pc to reset the values to 100-100-100? My dealer benvanerp.nl set it to values I immediately forgot but its been hooked up to his good old laptop a couple of times. Thanks. Mark

Should not be a problem but I would see if you can zero them out (100) for a more accurate starting point.
