I Need to install a module to slow them down a bit. They flash faster then stock, but it doesn't bother me. The more it strobes the more they see me!

I still have the smog carbon canister on, is there a point in removing it? I was told it just filters any gas vapors. does plugging the brass fitting make it run different? I'm extremely happy with how it runs now!

The smog can causes a lean air/fuel mixture condition wich causes most of the stalling, because it draws in unfiltered air threw the charcoal can. When your fuel tank dumps fuel from the cap vent it goes to the can and skims into the intake for combustion. The can can actually pull fuel from your tank and fill it up when riding steep inclines if the intake vent on the charcoal can starts plugging ( and it will if you ride lots of dirt).. Removing the can allows much better control of the air/fuel mixture. I would take it off, it made a world of difference before I installed my JD and FMF . My bike did not run right with it, would stall alot so I took it off before my first real ride and it ran so well I did not even install the JD / FMF for 10 months after I bought my bike. I removed brass smog fitting , heated with torch and filled hole with 60/40 lead acid solder.I have had smog caps in the past and they crack and leak in time.

I took mine off, I needed the space there for other accessories. Just make sure you keep it, your O2 sensor and your catalytic exhaust in storage for the day they make us smog our TE's, California especially.

Keep us posted, you should hit 90 at least :)

I rode my TE to work today! Stock gearing, FMF Powercore and the JD TUNER "Tuned to Green 4, yellow 5, red 2, green/blue 5, yellow/blue 6, red/blue 4, air screew 3 1/8 turn out.
NO JOKE I hit 97 on the freeway. The Bike runs insanely good. 4th gear I can lean back doing 35 and roll into a wheelie. The motor dspit and bobble at the top any more, the power comes on hard and winds off slow. This set up is amazing! Thx Rearwheelin.

I'm going to pull the smog canister off today.

LOL it would be worth it ! Quick question. When you pull the smog canister off, do you plug the line in on the gas tank? there was a hose going into each side, one came off with the canister? I'm guessing the other is an overflow?

And my latest test results, 4th gear at 52mph I rolled on hard and leaned back and she came right up rode it to about 70! I wish some one one was go proing it! :excuseme:

If I drop to a 45T or 46T Rear sprocket, I'll pick up top end, will I lose much torque in 4th? The bike is explosive in 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th. as is I dig it!, but I noticed on the freeway today it liked cruising at about 64-68 or so. I'm guessing a 46T should bump that by 5 or 10 MPH?

The hose on the left simply plugs into the auxiliary tank and it is a way for the fumes to escape back into the main tank when your filling it up.The hose on the right goes to the can, run this one down to the ground to your liking.I can pull the front end off the ground and ride a wheelie at 70.... Tons of torque . I want even taller gears for the street :)64-68 to me seems like it's revving high, if your red line is 97mph then chop that # in half and = 48.6293 mph lol that's how I figure my cruse brother

Reroute your fuel cell breather line to end up near your linkage and away from your engine case. On a hot day those gas fumes will make you loopy.

That's a good question. I'm very curious about this myself. The close-ratio is fine if you never go on the street but given the fact that it is street legal
and every now and then you have to hop on the slab....well.. I'm starting to sound like a broken record but here's a clip from last Sun and is same as I posted
a few months ago. With stock gearing my 511 is maxed out at 83 mph. I was hoping that the cam would see my speed when I kept looking down but you can't
see it. I will confirm, though that 83 mph is the absolute fastest mine will go. Bottom line is even when geared taller I don't think they'll be comfortable on the
highway like a KLR or DR 650 or TE610/630 or Terra 650. It's an amazing off road beast and I'm loving mine.

Stock gearing is 97 mph with JD /FMF combo as stated by TE 511nator... I'm having very similar results with a 15-45 gearing. We don't know exact rpm at freeway speeds so to justify a good cruse speed is determined by instink. My bike idles at 8mph and tops out at 100, maybe faster if I lean it out some more.I just posted this in a different thread but you can see a huge difference , I can wheelie over 70 mph.

They aren't terrible , sometimes need to put my hand on them to dampen vibration. Adjustability is good . I couldnt see any cops lol :).

    Haha.
Vibration bothers me riding. I picked up a pair of Flexx bars and pillow top grips. They do make anti-vibration inserts for regular bars, but who needs mirrors when you can turn your head at 100mph like you do.

This has got me quite baffled. If we both have the same bike, same mods, stock gearing then one of speedos must be off. I've maxed mine out a few
times and 83 mph is all she wrote. My 610 with wide-ratio tranny and stock gearing did a hair over 100mph and about 97 after I put a 14 c/s on it.
    Nice wheelies, btw.

Question? Are you tuning with the JD and have removed the flat spot between 7-8k rpm?

Try tuning your Jd to Green 4, yellow 5, red 2, green/blue 5, yellow/blue 6, red/blue 4, air screw 3 1/8 turn out. This setting works awesome for me! The Red setting they suggest is too rich!
