Quick question guys. What series Needle jet does the 38mm 1980 390cr mic use?

The 38mm Mikuni uses a series 166 (old number was 480) needle jet.

I just installed a Dial-A-Jet and UFO from Thunder Products on my 85 500XC. So far I am very happy with both products. I was very skeptical, and thought it might be b/s, but I gave it a try. I am sure there are other people on this post that will bad mouth it. After installing the UFO the bike starts in 1-3 kicks and will actually idle, this is with the stock 40mm Mikuni. No cracking the throttle when you kick or other rituals involved. The UFO/Dial-A-Jet combo definately provides crisper jetting, awesome throttle response, and a slight H.P. gain. I don't believe it is what the manufacturer claims, but definately better. Also just turning a dial can increase or decrease up to 3 jet sizes. Talk to Lonn at Thunder Products and go with his recommendations. I was so impressed I bought a set of UFO's for my banshee
