FE/FC KTM has nearly doubled the price of a Husky

Anyone else seeing how easy it is to spend 10 grand, but how much harder it is to make?

My 08 TE510 was $7K (discounted from $7999). I purchased a 14 FE501 for $8400 (discounted from $10K). These
prices were before state tax and registration.

So over 6 years I only paid $1400 more (20% price increase) for the same type of bike. No complaints from my wallet or grin factor.

Are the new Husky bikes cheap. No, not by any means. Would I ever have been able to afford one at age 16 for racing.. never.

Then again, I paid $800 for my 1974 Elsinore at age 16 and that amount will only get me a few upgrades and some new tires for the 501 in todays purchasing power.

Well if we are talking about money and bikes I feel it is appropriate to share a quote I saw the other day. "The best way to make a million dollars in dirt bikes is to start with two million".

That saying is from the restaurant business.
