Thanks fellas. Seems good just don't want to be too lean. A little more tinkering I guess to make sure.

Justintendo I'm just south of you, zelienople

I spoke to Dave at lectron. He said no worries about being lean. If it feels right it is. Told him I had to just crack the throttle starting so he said work leaner by 1/8 turn. . Should just have to hit starter and it should fire. More tweaking. Thanks to all for the advice.

So I was at the central ADV rally last week and put a few hundred miles on my 300 with the Lectron. I gave it a quarter turn richer and she really rips now. And oh ya, it's getting 40 MPG or better... Daaayuum. I did install a 14 T CS for the rally. I wasn't going easy on it either. Open fast ATV trails with lot's of "on the pipe" flogging. I'd say I'm a happy camper. Just seeing a tiny bit of spooge just enough for dust to stick. Guess I don't need the oversize tank afterall. I have the Geneseo Enduro in September so that will be the real test on mileage. I'll go out on a limb and say it won't be 40 MPG...

Are you guys finding it 'blurbly' at less than 1/4 throttle when its cold? When mine warms up its great but that initial warmup is odd, kind of like its loading up

When I was fine tuning the 165 I got close, but was still a little rich and loading up when cold. Went 1/4 turn lean and now it's slightly lean when cold, but once it's warm it's great. At some point I'll go to the next richer rod (3-2m to 3-2xl) and see if that's any better. Actually I like it a little lean on the bottom, pulls really clean and crisp right from idle once it's warm.

I removed my thermostat so mine takes a while to warm up and is burbly as well. I can't really get rid of it completely even after several hours of running. I just rip it past 1/4 turn and it's all good:)

I am seriously thinking of getting a Lectron eventually...I still have some other mods I want to do first...I have ordered a James Dean Jet kit which should be here any day now....

What's the purpose of removing the tstat?

My lectron seems very good. I'm done tinkering. Nice and crisp all the way through.

Less plastic parts to fail and leave you stranded or overheated on the trail. They put them on at the factory to satisfy emissions standards from what I understand.

No need for them in warmer climates. When I ride snow I just let her warm up for five or so minuets

Been running lectron for 6 months of desert racing 38MM throttle body. Uhmm its good aight but not a huge improvement in gas mileage. Nice not having to swap needles and jets anymore...

i'm off and riding tomorrow. we'll see how the Lectron does. will be my first real ride with it other than tooling around the house. i also found a local place selling vp so i mixed myself a 96 oct blend to try. i'm hoping it's a winning combo.

So I got 40 miles in today. Seemed ok. I think my stock carb might better. She seems fat right off idle then cleans up good. Not cra out the pipe. Have to give her a little throttle to start. I might lean it out a qtr turn see what happens. Either good to get out.

Well if your familiar with jetting then your on to a winner with the lectron.
When you've gotten it good it's good no other changes.
Well so far here in English land is been cracking.

I called Dave at Lectron today and told him my issues regarding the blurble off closed throttle. He suggested the 2-3 rod and is sending one my way next week. I went out (lean) a quarter turn and it seems really good now. Overall I'm very pleased and the throttle response is smooth now. I'll be riding this weekend, tight trail stuff, so it'll be a good test with the new setting. I'm wondering if a Knarly and turbine core 2 would be a nice addition as well. Hmmmm:D

Reveille. How'd the new metering rod work for you?
