Unfortunately in Indonesia the biggest "legal" bikes are 250 cc. These days you can buy Ducati's, R1's, Nuda's, etc but have to pay almost double the going price for them. Most Indonesians ask me why I don't ride one of the new Ninja 250's and my answer is "Why would I buy a new bike that costs 2-3 times what these cost when I can leave them in the dust on what I have now"? The TZM was only made for 2 years for racing against the Ninjas and NSR's (and kicked their butts, I may add). It has the smoothest powerband of any 2-stroke I've owned, corners incredibly, and is stable at speed (max about 120 mph). The Suzuki is a wild ride... Just wants to wheelie as soon as you hit 6 grand. It's great fun.
I saw THE most beautiful looking and sounding Suzuki 750 smoker down in Huntington Beach a few months ago. It crackled at idle like a top fuel dragster. Must have one. Nice bikes. I like your style!
OK!!! I'm IN!!! Well, I guess cool is a matter of opinion. My wife doesn't think it's very "cool", but she supports my habits. The jetski on the trailer is hers. 1980 Ultranautics Wetbike It has a twin Suzuki 700cc 2stroke engine. It is kind of a slug compared to todays PWC's, but super fun to ride.... I LOVE leaning this thing over on glassy water.
I had a friend who had a couple of those. They were funky to ride until you got the hang of it. Then you could hit corners like berms! I think it's very cool (although it looks like it's from some 70's scifi film) and you sure don't see many on the water these days. Actually pretty rare "Back in the day" as well...
Those Pentons are too cool. A guy in my neighborhood growing up had one of those Jackpiners. What a brilliant sound that thing made... The fins on those engines are ridiculous!
My first bike, purchased when I was 19 in 1981 - a 1976 Suzuki GT550 Triple note: photo of someone else's bike that looks just like mine did
That's a beauty! Nothing like the sound of a triple! I've owned H1 and H2 Kawasaki's (total death machines). Almost bought a 250 a couple of months ago and was going to cram it in a new frame until I found out you can't register a bike with non-matching numbers here.
Ok, hopefully the last post from me. Two rides with four wheels (money pits the both of them) and one with (up to) 5 fins. '69 bug '70 Karmann Ghia The "Justin Special" named after my wife's cat (as pictured). I wanted a new custom board without having the usual complaints from my wife so I had the shaper paint her cat on the bottom. It worked! Hmmm, think I could get away with the same on a new bike?

One of my riding buddies that likes vintage has about 20 bikes in his garage. Recently he bought a Yamaha TDM200 (I think) on ebay that looks very similar. His has a nickel plated frame and is a 200cc. I guess they sold a few in Japan but they never came to the states. Are you familiar with them? Yours looks like it says Suzuki on the side cover...maybe I snipped the wrong photo title. A fun canyon carver, eh?
The old 'deek' is really cool. I did a resto for a guy for hire on one similar. He found me in a vintage forum and asked if I would build his bike for him. I thought it turned out pretty good... He would ride it down to the local cafe on Sundays for a coffee, just for a putt. He had all the parts, I did the motor refresh, painted all the frame parts and tank, laced new wheels, made a new seat cover, and put it all back together. I did a bunch of them over a number of years, for myself as well as others. 1970 DKW 125 Enduro

True, That's a photo of the RGR Suzuki. that one handles ok but I mostly just wheelie! Never heard of the TDM 200 but there is a TZM 250, I think it's ever more rare than mine. I can't even get the right spark plug for mine in Indonesia. Had to get everything in Malaysia and Thailand.
Yep, I wanted one of those too It's still on the "what to put in the garage after the lottery win" list...
