this thread made me realize that I don't have photos of any of my bikes before digital cameras. before I switched to dirt: '96 XR250R:
Boy does that bring back some memories. A kid in my neighborhood had one but by the time I got to ride it the poor thing was clapped out. Seems the kid loved to ghost ride it... Bars were bent wheels not round and the engine was on its last legs. Yours looks great. Bet some of the Aussie members would love to have that one!
ok, I confess: not mine. Took this picture in Mongolia this summer & thought you guys would enjoy it.
It better look great! I had it torn down to nothing all summer long. It was nothing but a pile of rusted, mismatched parts. I replaced a lot of the hardware and fasteners, the forks, bars, gas tank, rear shocks, cables, levers, tires, tubes, rear spokes sanded and painted the frame. The seat has a new cover, but the foam and seat pan are really shot. I simply ran over budget and had to stop.
My Current moto rides: 2010 Husqvarna SMR 510 and a 2005 Triumph ST 1050 for road trips. Past rides: 1994 Triumph 750 Trident (sold in 2004) 2002 Triumph 955i Daytona (sold in 2010) 2009 Suzuki DRZ-SM 400 (kept 6 months) Pedal power ride: Norco Atomic DH
I've got a couple of Honda XR600R's too. The wife just doesn't understand the need for more than one bike...... Here are my 2001 Triumph Sprint, 2006 Triumph Tiger, 2007 Ducati Monster S2R 1000, 2010 Triumph Thunderbird 1700, my TE630 and my 2004 Polaris Sportsman 600. I'm contemplating trading a few in on a new Multistrada, but can't seem to decide which ones to trade in.
My all time favourite, best bike I´ve ever owned. The one I hop on to hoon around town. If only my Husky 630 weren´t so HEAVY! (...and if only it were a bit more agile). The CCM´s snap, crackle and pop `zorst is another thing I never want to miss. I could never get it registered as street legal again under the present Euro laws. So it´s a keeper.
