So I should do them at the track? Oh wait they closed that years ago, wait I take the new superferry over to Maui and race on their track, nope shut down that too. Airlines and rental car companies prolly had a hand in that one. So if there is no place to get your kicks what do you suppose people do? I could take up golf and play one one of oahu's 26 golf courses, yeah I counted. Let me guess not ride? As you can tell my obsession is a bit higher than average. As far as risks, pulled my license, still have sr22. Insurance. Been to jail fir a few days, don't have kids nor want them. Married with a house. Matter if fact that all doesn't matter I'll worry about my life. You can argue until your blur in the face about "what if" if I was doing this in a neighborhood or near a school you would have an argument, but your "unguided missle" theory doesn't hold water. I will ride until I'm dead. That's just the way it is. Don't like the video don't comment. Old saying goes "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" Aloha
ride whatever you want how ever you want, i dont care, they should put on your suspended lic, you have permission to be special and can drive how ever you want. Solve all the problems you have with the law. Party on Garth. Mike
So....are you saying that you are against free speech? Just be happy that you got to post your modest capers here at all. On many forums, it would have been deleted so that the general public wouldn't read it and get the idea that irresponsible actions are condoned or tolerated by the motorcycling majority.
I'm 52 and a good rider doing a wheelie makes me smile ( I've been riding since I was 12 and still s**k at them)......... what really pisses me off is the person playing with their cell phone in the left hand lane of the beltway doing 45mph. I can tell you which one is more dangerous I bet we can keep this thread going for months
I have gone to commuting only on my street bike. Too many 100+ mph rides that afterwords I was asking myself "What the heck was I thinking!" Now I get my kicks in the dirt where I can ride wheelies for hours and not get a ticket.
Unguided missle doesnt hold water? Well a friend of mine that was in Las Vegas Extremes....they do the same stuff you are doing but better...he was riding a wheelie down the interstate at about 3am one morning...not sure what happened but he lost it....the bike went about 1/8 mile got the wobbles and cartwheeled over the center divider...just so happened it landed in the windshield of a car coming the other direction...now I say he WAS in LV extremes because now he is in the klink...only has 15 years left on his 25 year sentence...so go on and have fun...hope you dont ruin your day...maybe you should spend some time using spell check instead of stoppies...oh ya...I hate texting drivers too...

Ah.... too bad this story will go in one ear and out the other.... " That won't happen to me "......
Actually this dude doesnt drink alcohol or do drugs...just a 25 year old that liked to stunt....they say as he was riding the rear touched the ground...I agree that it will never happen to pinit.... well off to hit the trails...
Super nice bike! I too have pushed my street bikes way beyond sensible speeds...when I was in my early 20s (now 30). It was stupid, but, really fun. I also hate watching these videos and seeing people on bikes pulling wheelies at 60-80 miles per hours or swerving between cars. The worst is when guys on a Harley are riding through intersections with their legs perched up on cruiser pegs and one arm on their leg. There is no question we all like riding bikes. We like pushing the limits and feeling great about almost losing control, and trying to do it again. But, I would not post a video of it. I also would hate to show off in front of people, then bust my a**. In any case, just watch out for other people. Have fun on your bike, but do not put other people in harm. I wish I could ride a wheelie like that. Then again, when I am riding the last thing I am thinking about is my stunting skills...but that is just me. JS
+1. I've lived my whole life afraid of what others might think. I'm tired of being told what to do and think.
Give the guys some credit - they owned up to their behavior and took the punishment the police officer doled out. Court proceedings lowered their penalties thru negotiation. And, yes, posting it for all the world to see is kind of fun, and they did post getting caught. Perhaps a disclaimer at the beginning stating your experience and not for beginners might be adviseable. And consequences of actions detailed. I found the video entertaining (i cant wheelie if my life depended on it), im 40 and i smiled. Thanks for coming online and putting up with the finger pointing. Personally i ride primarily on the track, and commute occasionally with my SV1000. I try to heed traffic laws and view other drivers as a danger. Fun is fun, choose your timing and location, and accept the consequences when caught.
Try them in the dirt.. there is no challenge on nice smooth, straight, wide public roads other than evading loss of your DL. Now if they would block off the auto traffic on the "road to Hana" you could have the mini "Isle of Man" with super motos.. There one could show their abilities and stand up the front on every straight.
You can have a wreck on the street without being "extreme", all you have to do is keep riding...sooner or later the road will collect its toll......Looks like most of the antics were out in the countryside. I raise hell on my SM 610, it's hard not to...But in the counrty where there aren't many "cages" around or people, and usually early as possible. Of course, I'm on the look out for deer, turkey, 'possums, racoons, dogs, amadillos, coyotes...well you get my point. Ride them like you stole them, party on.
[quote="Pinittowinit, post: 150893" "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" Aloha[/quote] I love to wheelie as well, but posting this helps create the problem, your narcissism and vanity needs to have someone admire what you do, otherwise you wouldn't post it. You post a video of yourself passing vehicles on your back tire, and then is ticked off when you get criticism, if if you don't like what's said don't post it. I'm sure when you went to court, you showed the judge this video, I'm sure he would be totally understanding. Now, when that cop see's you on the street, he's going to nail you but good... GROW UP!
Interesting debate. I think if you post up any extreme on street riding, you've got to graciously accept criticism.. It's not everyone's ideal, and can give other riders bad press. There's a main road at the end my my road. It's quarter of a mile dead straight, 30mph limit, residential area. When I or my gf or kids walk over to the shops and someone on a bike or in a car flies down there at 55mph I'm pissed. I wouldn't care if they were pulling a wheelie or themselves. Show some respect. If they're doing the same on a quiet country road, away from pedestrians and other vehicles fair play, it's their risk and I do the same.
